I've purchased the same pair for several growth sizes for 2 boys... Age 4 to 8. These are good shoes WITH the following caveats: 1. These are sturdy BUT eventually break down. This means I've easily gotten to the next size in them BUT you won't be handing these down to a sibling or donating. These are basically disposable boots. 2. We spend time outside working, hiking, fishing, etc. They are solid boots and saved more than a few toes from firewood drops. I do waterproof them however. Good luck. ... show more

I bought these for my son when he went camping, and we couldn't find shoes to fit him. So we took a risk, measured his feet and bought them. The were good, a little big for my son, but since he was hiking he had to wear two pairs of socks to reduce friction anyway. Worked well. My kiddo loves these. They keep his feet warm and dry (cold and very wet atmosphere). Durable shoes - easy for him to slip his feet in and take off (not too stiff). He wears longer socks with them so the possibility of blisters is slim.

My son is between a 4.5-5, so I ordered a 5, and he's just swimming in them. I'm hanging on to them because I'm guessing he'll grow into them, but meanwhile had to dash over to the mall to pick up Nike's, size 5, which fit perfectly well. Our family went on an epic summertime road trip to include multiple state parks and a lot of hiking in the Southwest United states. Where we live we don't hike very often so I didn't want to invest in $100 pairs of hiking boots that we would use once before the kids all grew. These turned out fantastic for all of us! 5-year-old, 8-year-old, and myself a women's size 7/8 were able to wear these. (I ordered kids 6 and they fit great! ) they offered great ankle support, customizable with nice shoelaces and hooks to tie up. Great grip strength. The only downside is there is absolutely ZERO padding. We ended up having to go by gel inserts mid-trip to make these bearable.
