I didn’t expect much, they were priced cheap and when they are… I wasn’t sure. My son broke them in during a downpour and we both crashed into the creek. Next day was mud, mud and more mud. My son wore this for a 3 days camp/field trip and said his feet were very comfortable. He did a hike and some parts were slippery, but the grip on these boots helped him navigate some steeper areas with ease. He's a tennis shoe type of kid and likes his shoes to be lightweight. He didn't complain about these at all. He wore taller socks so had no issues with the shoe rubbing his ankles or legs. It is true to size. The brown pair came in a box without tags and look mostly clean….But there was no packing paper or paper stuffed inside the boots like the other color boots purchased from the same supplier in the same order. The toes are scuffed and the bottoms show slight wear marks so I can’t help but wonder if these were someone else’s returns. But overall the quality look nice and I guess the minute my 4 yr old puts them on, he’ll probably scuff them more. ... show more

I've purchased the same pair for several growth sizes for 2 boys... Age 4 to 8. These are good shoes WITH the following caveats: 1. These are sturdy BUT eventually break down. This means I've easily gotten to the next size in them BUT you won't be handing these down to a sibling or donating. These are basically disposable boots. 2. We spend time outside working, hiking, fishing, etc. They are solid boots and saved more than a few toes from firewood drops. I do waterproof them however. Good luck. ... show more
