I used to hammer a big screw driver into the floor joist to pry the warped deck warped deck board strait. this tool gives you way more leverage to straighten the board before screwing it into place. well worth the money. it doesn't work on double floor joist's. i also purchased a CAMO Lever Deck Board Bending and Locking Tool for Faster & Easier Deck Installation on double floor joist's but that tool cost $99.00. It locks into place without you needing to hold it while you screw the board down. Both are well worth the money if you have a large deck to do. I tortured my self by not buying these sooner. This was purchased as a Christmas gift last year for a disabled friend who still does a lot of carpentry. He works alone, so this seemed like it might be a solution to deck board aligning and attachment when he worked to build his proposed rear deck on his home. A year later and he still raves about how it was the perfect 'extra hand' he required to avoid enlisting outside help. I am dangerous around wood (only do metal), so his feedback was essential to gauging the effectiveness of this tool. Resurfaced a deck and the lumber delivery for the deck boards sat in the rain and wasn’t supported with enough binding material so most of the 50 or so boards ended with a slight bow by the time I got to install. Should mention, I was using 16’ 5/4 pressure treated decking. Stuff is dense. And I was securing it with camo deck fasteners. This tool was a life saver. One person operation, was able to work the boards to a consistent spacing, just torque it and stand on the bow tench handle and screw then down. Would not have gotten the deck done without this tool. Only complaint I have is that the plastic stoppers at the ends of the steel shafts don’t last long. All popped off during the course of operation. Other than that, this thing works like a dream! ... show more
