  • Just like the photo
I'm so happy about this purchase because it's a Christmas gift for my father in law. He's been looking everywhere for the game in stores and I found it online!

  • KEEP ON KEEPING ON!
60 hours in and I have been hooked on this game; it is exactly what I was looking for, which is an immersive long-play. That being said, it is a slow-burn from the start and you will find yourself saying “huh?” a lot because the premise behind this game is unlike any other. There is a lot of information to take in that set the scene for the remainder of what you’re about to experience, so just give it a chance and be open minded to the story. Yes, some of the characters have silly names and dress even sillier for what their role is, but this has been a recurring theme in video games going back to the NES. Also the story may conflict with what you know to be logical, however, this is a post-apocalyptic future where humanity is barely holding it together, so logic as we know it does not matter much. The good: THIS GAME IS BEAUTIFUL. It is mostly-open world and you are free to roam among gorgeous scenery and topography. If you like that eerie feeling of being in a strange place that used to be densely inhabited but is now abandoned and in disrepair, then this game is for you. Personally, I do and it adds to the immersion and survival aspects that drive a sense of purpose for apocalyptic. The game has a good blend of tech and nature and a bit of magic to explain why things work the way they do. Also the behind-the-scenes social aspect to the gameplay lets you know that you’re part of a team that is focused on making the world better, even if you cannot see or meet them in-game. You will recognize player names that have built other structures that can be used in your world. Also the BTs are terrifying in their own right without the game having to resort to “surprise” shock to get you to respect and fear them (think: sudden loud noises or visuals that are used in most of todays horror films. None of that.) The bad: It takes a bit to get going. Again, a lot of information and cut scenes to bring you up to speed. The interfaces seem clunky until you get used to them, kind of like when you switch from an iPhone to anything else. The initial story, names and other elements, like having a fetus in a bottle strapped to your chest, may rub you the wrong way initially, but more explanation and bonding experiences later in the game make it so you don’t care but may even see it as normal (for this game world). If you ever have somebody watching you play who wasn’t there from the beginning of the story, you will probably have to endure their BS and criticism until they either: “get it”; you have had enough and kick them out of the room; they think you’re nuts and leave on their own. The bottom line is to “keep on keeping on” and give it a chance. It will change the way you see things in real life, and maybe with a bit more appreciation. I can tell you, I see rain falling in the distance in real life and I’m immediately thinking “Yeah, nope. Not going over there” 😂 ... show more

  • Arrived in great condition
It's a chore playing this game. They should have called it normand reetus and a fetus because your constantly running around trying to accomplish goals with a baby in a life support jar attached to your chest. I'm not baby sitting for crying out loud!

  • I've been playing PC and console games for about 40 years...
...and Death Stranding is the most frustrating experience I've ever encountered. I'm about 7-8 hours into this thing and I feel like I need to hire a tech expert to make any progress and figure out WTH is going on and what I'm supposed to do. Several sites suggested that if I liked Ghost Of Tsushima. the Horizon games, God of War and similar "open world" games that it was a must have and they could not have been more wrong. There are simply far too many convoluted and non-intuitive choices that have to be made and manipulated and the learning curve is making me feel like a moron in need of a crash course in computer engineering and that's not why I play games. There seem to be a lot of folks out there that love this "game" and to be fair, the graphics are good and the map is immense but actual game play is dictated by innumerable control choices that slow "progress" down to a crawl and I'm done. It's defeated me. Guess I'll replay Shadow of the Tomb Raider again until something challenging AND fun reveals itself to me. ... show more
