I have been searching for replacement porcelain espresso cups for a long time, and was super-excited to find these! They are the perfect egg-shape, and are thick enough to retain heat when pre-heated. I didn't measure the quantity of liquid it holds, but it seems about 50% larger than it "should" be. This is not a deal breaker for me, as I simply do not fully-fill the cup. I would like to think I am well-qualified to make that assessment, as I am an Italian-American who has lived in Italy...and have been an espresso connoisseur for over 20 years :) My wife also loves these cups, as they do not have a flashy (colorful) logo on them, but just a subtle white logo over the white porcelain. I also appreciate the simplicity in the color choice.

I gave it 5 stars, because they are well worth the price ! BUT, they are definitely not a 3oz. capacity, fact is, they do not even hold a Nespresso double espresso , which is listed at 2.78 oz.. If you are interested in a single size espresso, these are very nice.

Traditionally a single shot of espresso is 1 ounce, and a double shot is 2 ounces. These De'Longhi espresso cups can hold 2.4 ounces of liquid, so they should be able to hold a double shot if your machine is set to produce a 2-ounce double shot. You might want to check your machine's settings first so that you don't accidentally overflow these cups when using them for the first time. There is room for some milk or foam if you use a single shot, but with a double shot there is only room for the espresso. Personally if I am making a milk-based drink like a latte, I use a much larger cup that it can hold a double shot plus plenty of milk. But if you are only looking to drink some espresso, these cups are perfect since you can see the crema at the top and enjoy your espresso in an attractive cup similar to what you would get in a coffee shop. My only complaint is that I wish the De'Longhi name was not stamped on the side of the cups. It would be better if they were just plain porcelain without any words or logos on the side. That is the reason I am deducting a star. Otherwise these are very nice cups & saucers.

These De'Longhi DLSC309 Porcelain Cappuccino Cup and Saucer pieces are smaller than I expected. They feel elegant in my hand, but I admit that I like my cappuccinos a little bit...frothier than these cups can accommodate. The discreet labeling on the side is nice, and I recommend them--as long as you don't take your cappuccinos sized LARGE.

4 piece set (2x egg shaped espresso cups and 2x matching saucers) from De'Longhi. The cups are sized just right for a double shot of espresso with enough clearance to adorn with a healthy dollop of milk foam. The pieces are white porcelain with its branding molded on each cup. The pieces are nice and sturdy, thicker than expected but they feel great in the hands and truly enhances your home espresso drinking experience.

One of the reasons why I love D'Longhi products is because they are so well-built. Who else can send teacups in the mail with a packing envelope and have them arrive in perfect condition? The box was well packed with styrofoam before they were put in the envelope, and everything was in pristine shape. However, the product information is not correct because these little cups hold exactly 2oz and not 3oz. When you measure in 2oz of liquid, it comes right up the brim. The trick with using these cups for a good cup of expresso is the warm them first. I put in a shot of expresso into cups that had been sitting out, and the temperature was around 111 - 113 degrees. However after warming them first (just under some hot water) and poured in some coffee, the temperature in the cups was around 139-141 degrees. They certainly do hold a lot of heat! The saucers are a nice touch for the tea biscuits, it's a beautiful set for gifting.
