Monitor is clear, very good resolution as rated, all around a nice clear display where you need to conserve space. The only problem is the spacing for the HDMI cable plus in the back. It's not quite enough. I have to force the HDMI cable plug in. If the HDMI cable plus were even a micro millimeter thicker it would not work. I'm using a standard HDMI cable that came with my Raspberry PI that I consider a standard size. Your HDMI cable may or may not work. Beware. Otherwise I'd give 5 stars. ... show more

    • Unpredictable Flicker Makes it Virtually Useless (unless you have the right cable)

The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: I researched thin HDMI cables to find one with as thin of a head/casing as possible, purchased one, and switched to that. Now, the flicker is totally gone. It's unfortunate that I had to purchase a second specialty item in order to use this monitor. If you're looking to buy it, consider getting a thin cable at the same time. I'm increasing my rating from 2 to 3 because: 1) it's not the device's fault, it's was the cable's fault 2) however it IS the device's fault the cable had a problem/didn't fit right 3) the menus are still difficult to use and 4) it is pretty harsh to look at for long periods of time. It worked great the first time I tried it... Then, my computer had to reboot for a software install, and the next time it turned on it flickered like mad - turning off and on, and horizontal black lines randomly appearing across the whole width of the screen at various vertical positions (see attached video). Turned it off to make dinner, came back, turned it on again - and it was totally fine again. Then, I used the remote to turn it off and back on, and the flickering resumed. My assumption is that the culprit is in the HDMI port - it is insanely close to the body of the monitor, which means it's an awkward fit for even the thinnest of cables (see attached photo). ... I had it turned off while writing this, and just turned it back on and there's no problem. Toggled the power again, and so far it's still fine 🤷♀️. The worst part is that it's unpredictable. The second worst part is the headache I will almost definitely have later... I can only hope it doesn't randomly start flickering in the middle of a livestream (I bought it to use as a control panel for my OBS). Also, the onscreen menus are incredibly unintuitively. .....aaaand there goes the flickering again. ... show more

Purchased to be interfaced to Raspberry PI devices. Very nice color screen image, large enough for basic programming tasks but not recommended for video/movie viewing etc. Screen is too small for that purpose. The screen is apparently set for a basic 1280x720 resolution with an optional zoom view setting increasing the image size by 20% or so. Unfortunately in the zoom mode the control ribbon along the top of the screen disappears, requiring a readjustment of the resolution back to the default 1280x720. There appears to be a stealth 640x480 mode that came up for a few seconds as the Raspberry PI was booting up. Cannot find that option in the control settings. After a few seconds the screen reverted back to the default resolution of 1280x720. Overall an excellent monitor for my purposes to program micro controllers etc. ... show more

Ordered the Dcorn 8” screen yesterday and Amazon delivered it today. Great service. It was well packaged. Everything needed was in it. Took about 15 minutes from opening to set up on my desk and plugged it in and began watching U-tube video. Quality better than I was led to believe. Sound is okay to good quality but considering it’s size we were please. It’s foot print on a busy desk top is ‘small’ and what we were looking for. Interfaced with my iPhone 11, that is exactly what we wanted. I would buy it again and in fact may do just that for our 15 year old granddaughter. One piece of advice is if you are connecting to iPhone have the Lighting to Digital AV Adapter on hand first as you will need that to connect to the HDMI cord that is included.     • A Well Made Small Monitor for the Right Applications

This is a decent monitor with good picture quality and sound. The only real issue I had was I needed to buy a 90 degree HDMI cable in order to tilt the stand to level. Otherwise, the stand has to be tiled up, because the HDMI port is on the bottom edge of the screen and the included cable has a fairly long connector. If you don’t intend to use the stand and use the VESA compatible mounting holes or you don’t mind tilting it up by 30 degrees, you’re fine. I haven t used the remote at all, it looks fairly cheap, but fairly standard for electronics of this class. I am using this with a The64 Mini as a kind of shelf based gaming display. ... show more

i am teaching virtually due to the pandemic and need to extend my display in order to monitor both my students and my email, etc. i had previously run a long hdmi cord to our living room tv, but that wasn't fun for my fiancée who wanted to watch while i was in class. to be honest, i purchased this little guy because of his affordability; but i am in love with him! he fits perfectly on my small workspace, his stand doesn't slip around, and the picture is surprisingly vivid. i can't speak to his audio quality because i have never used him for that. but, if you need a space conscious second display, add this to your cart immediately! ... show more

    • Versatile, very handy with a few tiny "buts"

Bought this to use as a portable piece of test gear. Overall very pleased, especially for the price. Lots of input options, great screen quality, would definitely recommend butttttttttttttttt... the AC adapter cord is very very short and the remote, which is much easier to use than the built in "4 way" button for scrolling through settings is very finicky. But in spite of that, I'm glad to have it in my toolbox, probably saved me it's cost the first time I used it. ... show more
