Used to top balance my lifepo4 cells, it's worked great on multiple sets. I can set the voltage and amps to what I want for slow or fast charge. Set at 3.65v, measured 3.65v at the battery, I was impressed. When amperage fell to zero, i tested the cells and they were at 3.65v, so no complaints.

The media could not be loaded. I am getting into some electronics and circuit design, primarily for DIY lighting with LED units and LED strips, but also some Arduino automation. I chose this unit for the following reasons: - Needed at least 10A @ 24V, this one is 10A at 30V which gives me a lot of headroom. - Coarse and Fine adjustments for both Voltage & Current - Constant regulation/limit for Voltage & Current - Has three banana clip/probe connections for positive/negative/earth ground (some only have pos/neg terminals). - In addition to displaying output in Volts and Amps, also has the power usage in Watts. Sure, I could just multiply Volts and Amps to get Watts, but having it instantly shown in the display trivializes a lot of decisions and planning in real time. (see video review) Observations: - After testing, I can confirm it seems to be reliable in terms of output matching its specifications. I tested on two LED strips, one 12V and one 24V and was able to power them cleanly and measure the draw in Amps/Watts at the dimmest min voltage and brightest max voltage levels. - The unit is lightweight, quiet and the controls are where you would expect them. - The red volt/amp/watt display is crisp, bright and easy to read, even in a well lit room. - The power switch is a nice push in/out toggle that has a really crisp/firm level of tension to turn on and off. - The adjustment dials are well dampened and do not feel cheap or flimsy. - As others have noted, the included banana clips and probes appear to be of good quality and I didn't feel the need to order better quality replacements. In summary, I am very happy with this purchase and would buy it again if I needed a second for another location at some point. This unit was about 20-30% more expensive than similar competing units, but I think it was worth it for the reasons I mentioned above. ... show more

Compared to a Dr.Meter i use at work, this unit is MUCH LIGHTER. So I assume it has less parts in it, less cooling or something to that affect. {But I used it to charge my car battery over night(<1amp) and it wasn't hot,,,,although its cold outside, nvm.} It comes with a set of Probes(for a multi meter), and alligator clips for the power supply, and the wall cable. The plastic turn knobs could use a bit of cleaning (plastic molding process), but other than that, no complaints so far. ... show more

I had a 0 - 30 volt 5 amp I bought 7 or 8 years ago. After leaving out in an unheated shop all that time, this year it died. With inflation, I got this for slightly less $$ and it is good for 10 amps. I really like the wattage feature. So far it is working perfectly.

    • Constant current doesn't work

This is a fairly fiddly unit. Besides the bad controls, the Constant Current mode doesn't work. It's like the knobs aren't connected to anything, nor do they do anything. I'd imagine that turning them when the device is on and there's no load would start the Constant Current mode or show some setting. Nope. Aside from the fact that I paid $150 for this and it's now $50, it doesn't work and I don't like it. ... show more

It's fairly accurate, easy to read(large LED digits), lightweight and does not take up too much bench space. It may not have true 3 or 4 place accuracy but for the money close enough. For example if you are using the constant current mode there is a roughly 1 second delay in activation at the lower milliamp range say 100ma for example. The fan does like to short cycle every so often even when unloaded but otherwise quiet operation. Having the power switch up front is very convenient. I bought 3 of these units and have been happy with them until today when one is failing to power up. Leds on the panel slightly light up when I turn the switch on but then it powers down. Is it possible to return it for another one?
