  • really nice
Material Type: Large Style: Dull Black
Fits like a glove. No bubble head either. Wish the chin straps were abut half an inch longer only thing I would change or fix. UPDATE: Today mid 70's so decided to take a ride. Mounted Bluetooth headset and of we went. No and I mean NO wind noise. Actually had to turn volume down. The way these are designed very easy to route and hide the wires. The more I wear this helmet the more I love it. Get one, you won't be disappointed. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE SIZING!!!! ... show more

  • Wanted a slim light weight good looking vintage style helmet
Material Type: Large Style: Dull Black
Got this for my dad for Father's Day. He's 71 this year. Wanted a slim light weight good looking vintage style helmet. Helmet is sized comparable to the big names so if a large shoei helmet fits you so will this one. Great value. May not have all the hi tech features of a $400 Schuberth but it's Great helmet compared to other you can buy at this price point. Update: I purchased one of these for myself as well. Had it a year or so. Sept 29 2019 I was leaving my parents place heading home about 3pm. I live in a rural area lots of fields woods and well as I found out deer. At 60 mph I came into a clearing and a deer ran directly into the front wheel of my touring bike. Happened in a split second. I was wearing a xxxl Daytona 3/4 open face helmet leather jacket boots gloves and jeans. Wasn’t anything I could avoid and the deer took the front wheel out from underneath me. Sent me staight onto my back and well my head hit the pavement. I slid rolled and tumbled. Other than a destroyed bike, some mild road rash as scuffed helmet and damaged pride I was fine. I was dazed but nothing broken and most importantly NO head injury. Fortunately I went down on my back. Had I landed face first things could’ve been different with this open face helmet. But it survived a spill from 60mph. If you check the pics I uploaded you will see the damage my helmet saved my head from. I put a lot of miles on this helmet. I will buy another for spring 2020. ... show more

  • Great Low Profile Helmet
Material Type: Large Style: Dull Black
This helmet lives up to it's expectations so far. This is one of the lowest profile helmets I've owned to date. It is replacing a Licks NOVDOT 3/4 helmet and when I put them side by side they look almost identical, see picture. I've only had this helmet for a few weeks but have put it through all of my typical riding situations. Even at highway speed I get no helmet lift and it stays snug in place. This is on a naked bike with no wind screen. The only feature I am not thrilled with it the ratcheting strap. I have never had a helmet with this feature so maybe I just need to get used to it. Also, there is no snap for the extra helmet strap so you need to tuck it somewhere so it doesn't flap in the wind. Although both of these helmets are a size large, the measurement charts are slightly different and the Licks large is slightly bigger and more round. I would classify the Daytona as an intermediate oval which makes it fit my head a little better. I was in between sizes (M-L) with Licks so the large started fitting looser over time. The Daytona I was spot on at the low end of a size large and the fit is more snug and comfortable. I originally planned to by another Licks at the smaller size since they've changed their helmet slightly since I purchased this one but they are always on backorder and the Daytona was almost half the price. I would almost wager that these helmets are made in the same factory. If you're looking for a low profile 3/4 helmet I would highly recommend the Daytona. ... show more

  • ... for a 3/4 helmet that didn't make me look like Mr. Mushroom head
Material Type: Large Style: Dull Black
First thing you do is pull that goofy bill off and hide it. Now it looks cool. I have been looking for a 3/4 helmet that didn't make me look like Mr. Mushroom head. Wasted much money on helmets that promised to have a smaller profile but did not. After some research I decided to roll the dice one last time and I am very glad that I did. First it looks great. Best fitting helmet I have ever had. I wear a large and at first I thought it was too tight as it was quite snug out of the box. It even left marks on my bald head, ouch. Then I remembered a review I had read that said if they were too tight to use you thumbs to press down on tight areas. I did that a couple times on each side in the temple area for a couple minutes. Much better now. I wore a do rag under it and that seems to have loosened it up even more. Now it fits snugly but is very comfortable. This helmet is well constructed especially considering the price of $62. Unbelievable bargain. Does not raise up when I cruise at 80 with a wind screen on the bike. My other open faced helmets all do. With a do rag on it is very quiet at 70 and 80 mph. A little more noise without the do rag so I would wear one on a longer ride probably. The matte black color looks good. Also it has a surprisingly nicely fitting chin strap. I may order another one before the price increases. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • No mushroom head
Material Type: Large Style: Dull Black
Nice vintage style helmet with normal outside dimensions. Some helmets today make you look like a melon head. I have a small hat size but ordered the large and its still a snug fit which is OK. Only problem is the clip-on visor that came with it. No matter how hard I press, the snaps will not seat so it is unusable. Deducted one star for that reason. ... show more

  • Almost perfect
Material Type: Large Style: Dull Black
For the price, this helmet is amongst the best I have purchased so far. It is not always about the brand. It is true it lacks some features. It is rather a basic helmet, but it does its job very well. At high speeds (90mph) the sound is acceptable. The strap lock is really well designed, ever better than other well branded helmets. The only complaint I have is the forehead pain when wearing for a while, but I solved that trimming the inner front hard foam with a blade. It took me less than five minutes . It does not decrease its performance or safety at all. It's all a matter of your head oval. After that little trimming ( which you can't see because it is under the padding inserts) the helmet is perfect. I own 8 helmets, all branded, and this is my favorite now. It looks less bulky , the matte color is nice looking and overall it feels sturdy. Do I recommend it? Yes ,thumbs down. ... show more

  • Just a bit on tight side.
Material Type: Large Style: Dull Black
The helmet was very good, as expected, but a bit tight. I made a spreader for the earpiece sections just to wear in a bit, give me a bit of gum-chewing room. If purchase again, I'd go one size up, but I didn't want to be Kazoo. All good!
