We have four dogs and twice as many dog beds, so there is always an available bed. Most dog beds last only a few years, so we have lots of experience with them. Many dog beds have cushy sides, but often lack adequate cushion in the middle where the dogs actually lie. And flat dog beds like this are often very thin and not very comfortable, so we have to cover them with multiple blankets. This flat bed is different in a good way. It has a thick and firm but soft, foam inner cushion (see photo). The side is zippered so you can remove the foam insert and wash the cover, which is super-handy and not very common with dog beds, and will likely enable this bed to last many years longer than most dog beds. The top is a soft sherpa fleece, and the rest of the cover is a strong fabric (some dog beds have paper thin covers on the bottom that last only a couple washings). In the summer, you could flip over this bed so the cooler cloth faces up, though we usually cover all our dog beds with blankets, just to extend the life of the beds. This large dog bed arrives in a tiny box and vacuum-sealed plastic wrapper, like modern mail-order mattresses for humans. Cut the plastic, and the bed springs to full size. It expands in about 10 minutes to its final size of about 45 x 33 x 4 inches. But our two 30-pound white dogs didn't even wait and jumped right on the new bed the moment we put it on the floor (see photos). By the end of the day, every one of our dogs had slept on the bed. Our tan 60-pound dog especially loves this new bed, as its flat sides allow her to sleep half on and half off, as she often likes to do. Even our 60-pound golden mutt has plenty of room on this big bed. I imagine it would comfortably hold dogs up to 100 pounds or more (I bought the XL size). The bed is not chew-proof by any means (nor is any dog bed that I've seen), but our youngest is out of her puppy stage and doesn't chew anymore. Even so, this bed cover seems more rugged than most, and with the removable cover, I expect it will last many years. Perhaps my favorite part of this new bed is how big and comfy it is, so even I can fit on the bed with my dogs and pet them. If you are looking for a high-quality, comfortable, large flat bed for dogs, this DaysU Orthopedic Dog Bed is a great choice.

I bought two for my new kennels and they are a little bigger than the kennel but it’s not an issue for my pups. I like that it has a warm and cool side. Seams easily washable I would purchase again.

My boy loves it! Flexible and portable. Can be used in a vehicle as the item can be bent to fit a seat. Can be used in the back of a vehicle as well. Many uses that are not always pet-related. Use your imagination. Item fit the listing description and was well worth the price.

My dogs love the bed. This bed replaced an old, lumpy, uncomfortable bed. We have a full size golden doodle and he can stretch out on this bed and take a nice long nap. It's nice and soft and the cover is removable so that you can wash it when it gets dirty.
