I wanted to eliminate having several remotes to control one light bulb in my home so the app makes it easy to control different lighting points with one device (phone) and to name each bulb according to the area it is lighting. In the app, which there are 2 different ones for some reason, you can choose the color you would like the bulbs to be but what you choose and what displays do not match. I was the first to write a review, my comments and 1 star rating reflected my unablility to get passed the app trying to get me to change my wifi setup as to connect at 2.4Ghz. The autoscan for a Bluetooth device didn't work for me. However with the help of tech support and using the manual method to add devices to the app, I was up and discovering the fun of setting up various lighting scenes. I am using 3 led bulbs grouped in the app for my ceiling light and 2 others for lampstands on either side of my bed which I also grouped. I have full control over each of the 5 bulbs in my room so I can set them up I I please, but also have with the grouping an option to set them to the same settings without having to individually control each bulb separately. That saves alot of time and makes using them fun. I have created with the app some quick one- click setups, but my mastery of that will come I am sure with more use, right now some of my attempts work better than others. To be more specific, a tap-to-run scene: a one-click setup that can complete several tasks to bring about a desired effect. My attempts thus far are hit and miss. When I use the one-click event, I am not always at one given setup, for instance, my scene might be trying to go from color to white or to a scene I desire from the " lights off" condition. There are alot of commands being issued to setup the bulb, it is my guess at this point that timing is at play here. The commands are sent and the check box clearly shows they were sent, but the scene doesn't always setup. I have noticed that if I rerun the task again changes to take place. So several taps eventually bring me my desired scene. That is my only reason for the timing theory. I had some socket devices that I couldn't get to work with my wifi configuration that I am now using with the tuya app. I used the same manual method using only bluetooth to connect to the device and was able to complete the wifi setup from there. So long story short, this is what I am using despite having a drawer of led color changing bulbs I have attempted to either install or use in my room. A feature that I failed to mention, which could be a problem for some is the fact that these bulbs are depended on bluetooth range. I want a lighting experience that is not tied to whether or not my internet is functioning or wifi issues( both seem to occur in my area anyway). As long as I can run the app which is reliant on my phone carriers signal and a working phone with bluetooth, I should avoid the other pitfalls experienced with wifi devices. However that said there're plenty of uses for wifi devices where the range of the wifi signal completely surpasses bluetooth. I really like these bulbs. The colors are very nice. The app is not too complicated to use. It has a widget that allows you to add scenes to it, so with 1 tap, you can turn the lights on and off. The scenes have decent functions that you can create. You can't program it to change colors though (I can't set a bulb to turn on, then turn to red, then turn to purple). You can change the mode as a workaround, but it's not really the same. There are 4 modes: white, color, scene, music. Each mode has its own setting and whatever color you have set for that mode is the color it changes to. So I can use the scene to change from white to color mode, but that's it. That wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that I can't control these lights without constantly having my bluetooth and location on. For some reason, it needs both to communicate, and it doesn't always see the bulbs so I have to close out of the app several times before the app sees the bulbs. And because of this slowness to connect, it makes turning the lights on and off really inconvenient. If they were connected to wifi, the bulbs would be constantly logged onto the network, and I can just be logged onto my local network and be done with it. The app has nice features but I just want to turn the lights on and it takes 3 minutes to do it. If these bulbs came with a remote, that would be a game changer and my review would be higher. ... show more

I just wanna say I was a little skeptical about the app after reading reveiws but after using it for myself it is very easy my 8year old set his up all by his self for his room.The light is very bright you can see it compared to name brand led on the right and Also I would suggest if you are bothered by slow blinking lights to install the app and have it open before you install the light bulbs. ... show more

Okay this preforms all the basic tasks that I expected it to but it doesn't get dark enough for a night light. It also doesn't like to turn on at the scheduled time, isn't compatible with my HomePod, and has a sliding scale which doesn't show the color when choosing a time to turn on. But it's definitely okay, it can shine the colors and I didn't expect too much at this price point but I'm broke so 😂 ... show more
