It looks and smells like leather. It's thick, heavy and looks strong. It's bigger than I thought it would be. It holds a lot and can get very heavy. The sides with the magnetic closure can pop open and things fall out if you accidentally grab only one handle. It's made really well. I can't use it long term because of the weight since I have shoulder and back pain but I still recommend it to others who don't have pain. ... show more

I saw my friend's at lunch and immediately ran home and bought it (in burgundy; hers was pink. No. Just no. LOL!) It took about a week, of course, to get everything in exactly the right place then I used it for a couple of weeks and love it so much that I bought another one to replace this one when I wear it out in a year or two. (I'm very hard on purses.) Unfortunately, they sent the wrong purse. It only has one center compartment; it's missing the two outside compartments and is also taller; just different.
