I paired these socks with sock liners and hiking water shoes (check out my other reviews) for wade fishing, and they performed above and beyond as expected. -Protection: These socks are thick enough and high enough to prevent bug bites and penetration, especially paired with permethrin and deet, and have kept my feet and ankles protected after hours in the field. -Wearability: Even after hours in the water moving constantly, these socks kept my feet protected and blister-free (may also be attributed to pairing with sock liners). Additionally, they are relatively cooling, and I have not noticed any significant heat buildup while hiking in these. -Moisture Retention: Most of my time in these socks has been while wading, once out of the water they get to work fast. They draw the moisture out from the sock liners and out further through the shoe, drying my feet as I walk. -Durability: These socks have not yet showed any sign of significant wear. As with any quality wool or synthetic sock, just be mindful to follow washing and drying instructions closely. Overall, I highly recommend these synthetic socks to anyone looking for a good set for hiking or other outdoor recreation in hot and wet conditions. If you are looking for good cold weather socks, however, these may not be the best choice.

Bought these socks for my grandson, now 18, who goes through socks 1 pair/week with Many holes. After wearing them for about 1 year, he still has NO HOLEs in these socks. They are comfortable and he thinks the designs are “cool”.

Love these socks. Super comfortable. I wear them in my hard toe work boots in a very physically active job for 7 to 10 hours a day. They wick sweat and prevent the feelimg soggy feet and significantly reduce stink. I was having cracking/bleeding on my big toe and heel that I had to treat nightly to heal and prevent discomfort with the previous cheaper work socks. Since I switched to this brand I no longer have an issue and my feet are hella happy. I don't know how long they last as I have only had them about a month. I wash them in a mesh laundry bag in a regular wash with my other cloths and hang to dry. They dry quickly. Worth thr money for sure. I bought 5 more in different styles. As a woman I wish Darn Tough had more work sock styles as they are not as high but they don't. The quality is the same between the men's and the women's, it's just the fit is better for women and color options in the women's socks are feminine. I would definitely reccomend if you wear work boots for length periods and do strenuous labor. Did I say I LOVE THESE SOCKS and they are totally worth the price... especially if they truely last a lifetime. We shall see about that.

I got these thinking there was 2-6 pairs in this pack as it had such great reviews. I wear socks in work boots and hiking military hot weather boots. These feel good and work, but for the money I really like Wigwam At Work Durasole Pro 2-Pack S1349 Sock. Best value for the money. I have hot feet and they sweat, this Texas heat doesn’t help. Though I really liked my wigwam I wanted to see what the hype was about on these…not worth it. $25 for 1 pair of socks…I get all the same features on the wigwam.

I have been wearing the same pairs of Darn Tough Vermont (DTV) socks for over 15 years. NO holes. NO wear. NO elastic failures. They look and fit as well as the day I bought them. I have always bought the low cut socks for office shoes and athletic shoes. New boots (White's and Red Wing) require new boot socks. Of course I'm going to buy DTV. I didn't even have to think about it. All DTV socks have a LIFETIME WARRANTY, which means I will never have to purchase replacements. I have been partial to the Cool Max material, as they keep my feet dry and comfortable. I am also wearing the Merino wool boot socks, and really like how they feel, too. Wool socks are recommended for breaking in new boots to help avoid blisters. As I am of retirement age, I don't need anything else causing aches and pain! As you get older, you realize that happy feet makes a happy person. Do yourself a HUGE favor...make Darn Tough Vermont your next socks. You will not regret it!
