  • My favorite pair of socks. They will be yours, as well, if you buy them!
First off, I love these socks. This is a pair I’ve ordered. I’ve ordered several styles and many of the same style. I’ve been wearing these socks for years—and they last that long. Secondly, I love this company. I’ve returned two pair that got snagged and they promptly credited me for a new pair with free quick shipping. Thirdly, yes, they look expensive. After owning a pair you’ll not think twice about that price based on what you get. You get the lifetime guarantee—which they stand behind—and you get the amazing quality. I took a gamble on this brand the first time when going to Colorado in the winter. I thought I may need quality, warm socks. I didn’t realize how it would impact me. After returning, I threw away just about every other sock I owned. I kept dress socks, for a while. I then proceeded to order several pairs. Then more as time went on. I worked in the field and didn’t realize that my previous socks sucked. I would get sweaty and stinky and blistery. My socks were soaked the end of the day. That is, until Darn Tough. It was amazing when I realized that it didn’t just keep my feet warm in Colorado, it kept my feet comfortable in the central Texas summer heat (110F) walking through mud and swamps! My feet didn’t cramp from being cramped in my boots all day. I don’t feel the stitches or seems. I’m telling you, they could call these socks “Darn comfortable” and they would be telling the truth in that regard, as well! Yeah, I know, it sounds crazy, but from that moment on, merino wool has been a favorite of mine, and no other socks will do. They stay comfortable, they don’t itch and my socks stay in place and they are rugged but soft. Seriously. I’m not paid to say this, I didn’t get anything discounted or free, but I really love these socks. I’ve ordered pairs for my wife, my mom, mother in law, aunts, friends, etc… I haven’t heard one person complain about them, but have heard all of them say great things. I’ve been asked to help them order more, many times. This really is my goto recommendation for socks and a sock company. I’m not sure which is more tough, but both the product and the company are darn tough on their quality and desire to please the customer. I think this company is fantastic, and I bet you will, too! Most highly recommend (not just this model but the whole brand). If this review was helpful, please click the button saying so. Thanks! ... show more

  • Nice Socks
Size: X-Large Color: Eclipse
I recently purchased the Darn Tough Merino Wool Boot Sock Full Cushion, and I have to say, these socks have completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I put them on, I could feel the quality. The fit is perfect—snug but not tight—and they stay in place all day, no matter how much I move around. The merino wool is incredibly soft, making them comfortable even during long wear. What I love most is their warmth without being overly thick or bulky. These socks are perfect for all kinds of weather, keeping my feet cozy in the cold but also breathable enough for warmer days. The full cushioning adds an extra level of comfort, especially for long hikes or long hours on my feet. They provide excellent support and reduce foot fatigue, which is a game-changer for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet. Durability is another big win. After several washes, these socks have held up perfectly—no pilling, no signs of wear, and the fit hasn't changed at all. Plus, the lifetime warranty from Darn Tough gives me peace of mind knowing that if anything happens, they’ve got my back. Overall, these are hands down the best socks I’ve owned. If you’re looking for a durable, comfortable, and reliable pair of socks for any activity, I highly recommend the Darn Tough Merino Wool Boot Sock Full Cushion! ... show more

  • Lifechanging socks!
Size: Small Color: Black
I always have had issues with cold feet especially in the winter. Every other sock I have ever owned, my feet would always be freezing. These darn tough socks actually are able to keep my feet warm but also very comfortable. The material feels high quality and you can't beat a lifetime warranty! The price is high but I think it is justified for the quality and durability ... show more

  • Outsanding socks!
Size: Large Color: Charcoal
I LOVE THEM!! I will admit ... I thought people must be crazy to buy $30 socks but .. they are really wonderful. I use them in my hiking boots here in Arizona and even after washing several times they hold up great, provide amazing cushion and wick sweat away from your feet. I hate to sound weird but .. these are some wonderful Socks. They do suggest that there is a Lifetime warranty and everything I have read says they do honor it so your $30 investment will amortize over time if you take advantage of it but truth is .. I have already bought more and even at the hefty $30 they are worth it just for happy feet. ... show more

  • Best socks ever made
Size: X-Large Color: Charcoal
These are hands down the best socks made and only ones i wear. Fits great. Very absorbant and breaths. Keeps your feet warm and dry all the time. This is the standard for what a sock should be. I think I have at least 7 or 8 pairs. My only regret is taking 40 years to find these.

  • Happy feet
Size: Large Color: Charcoal
As someone who has lived in the outdoors most of his life, I am very keen on good socks to make my treks, climbs, fly fishing, and all my backcountry actitivities successful. These are simply great socks. When I received them I put them on and did not remove them for nine days. It is not unusual for me to wear socks multiple days on my journeys. I read some reviews that some folks had issues with sizing. That was not the case for me. No “gathering” near the toes, no sweating and sticky feeling feet. They were dry and comfortable for the nine days with no itching, rubs, or hot spots. Once in North Cascades National Park I was forced to put heavy medical tape for blisters on my heals to save my trip. I wore my hiking boots everyday and had no such problems. Granted, I was not climbing five or six thousand vertical feet, but this was a pretty good test for those climbing trips. Finally, these socks are very expensive, but I don’t have any reservations now about them. I have worn Darn Tough for many years, and I expect my socks to last for many years. So true in this case that you get what you pay for! Go forth my friends and enjoy life. ... show more

  • Very good but too expensive for us poors trying to stay warm at cold jobs.
Size: Large Color: Black
I really like this pair of socks. I also bought a 3 pack of Danish Endurance brand that are supposed to be the same thing but not at all. These have so much more cushioning and thickness that they do a much better job for warmth and comfort at my job in a crappy automotive shop. I really do hope these last though because at $15 PER SOCK they are definitely proud of them and would have Dobby drooling. I would love to have a pair for every day of the week but us poors that keep the economy running don't have over $200!! For a weekly sock budget. I know these aren't supposed to be daily worn socks for normal people but there are people that are far from normal working difficult jobs just looking to make their lives a bit easier and these are about the only type of socks that do the trick. I know I've just gone on about how expensive a pair of socks is for us poors that use them most but they really are good socks. Especially when compared to the other brand that I tried giving me 3 for the same price promising same performance and you could tell the second you tried each on that these socks aren't lying on their ad. ... show more

  • Review update after wearing the socks 7+ years.
Size: Large Color: Charcoal
I learned about these sock while researching long distance hiking. They are very comfortable and durable socks. I traditionally purchased Gold Toe socks over the past 30 + years. I purchased 3 pair of these socks to try and I absolutely loved they way they felt when wearing them. They draw themselves up around your foot for a nice snug fit. They do not bunch up around your toes in a boot and do not slide down your leg but very little. I can't say enough good things about this sock and will be buying more to replace my Gold Toe socks. They are very pricey for a pair of socks. I know inflation and the Tariff issues are making things more expensive as of late. The warranty on them is unconditional, which almost no company does now days. Review Update 7 years later: I purchased three pair of these socks in 2018 and have had them 7 years now. I figured I would write an update on how they have fared over the years, including hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2022. They do wear over time as they are washed. I noticed the fluff and padding tend to diminish over time and become thin and do show signs of wear. As they wear out and the material begins to thin, it reveals a sock under the layers that is thin and reminds me of compression socks that the elderly wear. The synthetic material also degrades over time. I noticed over time after washing them, the socks begin to become somewhat stiff and less pliable. The wear patterns for me are on the bottom of the heel and ball of the foot. This includes a small bit of wear in these same areas that go up the side of the sock slightly. When I was hiking the Appalachian Trail, I wore a pair of Injini socks as a base and put the Darn Tough socks over these socks. Between the two, they did a fantastic job at preventing blisters wholly on the foot and between the toes. I had one blister that needed treatment during the first week, which was small. Afterward, no more blisters. I still wear these socks with a pair of work boots most of the time. I have a good solid pair of leather work boots that are name brand and last 6+ years. I often clean the boots and wash the insoles on a regular basis to keep them fresh. I recently noticed an odor coming from my boots that prompted investigation. My feet sweat in these boots and the socks absorb the sweat, which began to have an odor over time (plainly, they stink). I have not figured out if it is the socks or the boots over time that caused this. I have a boot dryer that I use daily and no longer wear these socks two to three days at a time. I change them daily now because they are so thin. I think the thinning and degradation of the synthetic material over time may have had something to do with diminishing the ability to prevent odor. I am still keeping the star rating at 5 because I have not found a sock that matches this quality. Not to mention, I still have not worn a hole in the sock yet. I do think in the coming months or years a hole will develop, at which time, I will put the lifetime guarantee to the test. Overall, I still wear these socks on the regular and have bought family members a few pairs for their birthday to try out. I am planning on purchasing a few more pair of these socks in the future for myself since they last so long. If I ever get a hole in them and go through the claim process, I will update this review with the results. In the meantime, just know you are getting a very good pair of socks if you buy the Darn Tough brand. ... show more
