Earlier this year, I purchased some low-cut Darn Tough socks for wear with sneakers. I love them for their comfort and for the fact that they are made in the USA. Having just purchased a pair of hiking boots, I needed a heavier boot sock, so I returned to Darn Tough and found these full-cushion socks. I'm wearing them today for the first time, and they are exceptionally comfortable in my new boots. They are well cushioned, but not as thick as some older boot socks I've owned, and that's okay. I love the merino wool content, as it gives the sock a comfortably warm, but breathable feel. It's just one day, but I am a happy camper with these and my other Darn Tough socks. ... show more

    • Expensive, but cheap!
These socks are super super comfortable, and warm on cold days but not so thick where you feel sweaty. They are costly, but they last 5-10 x socks that cost half as much. Do the math. And the other highly rated socks are no where near as comfortable. So in the long run they are a great value.

I just returned from a 4-day backpacking trip in Smoky Mtn. NP and these socks performed beautifully. They are very comfortable, regulated my foot temperature well on days when the temperature started in the low 40's and went up to the 70's, and did not bunch up in my boots. The best feature is that the socks are lightly padded on the front of the sock where the boot tongue is, so you get extra cushioning where you need it, especially on long downhill treks. ... show more

I can’t believe I went so long without hearing about this brand and socks. Works extremely well Even when sweaty, while airing out overnight, by the morning they’re very dry with no stench at all. It’s incredible. Adds to the comfort, unlike regular “hiking” socks you get in bundles from Costco, which are actually very thin. I never realized how thin hiking socks are compared to Darn Tough socks. Great buy, may get a 4th pair soon. ... show more
