Darn Tough socks have a reputation in the hiking/trekking world and were recommend to me by a co-worker. I figured since I just got a new pair of hiking boots in preparation for taking up hiking this year, I might as well try these socks. Let me tell you, I am blown away by them. Granted, I don't exactly have much to go by in terms of what good gear is in the hiking world, however I do know a good sock. I've experimented with socks over the years when playing various sports, to go with dress clothes, etc and these are already high up there in my opinion in terms of comfort. The cushion makes these boots wear so much better and the increased warmth is great for these winter days. I will say that the full cushion has made my boots a tad snug. Its nothing that has made them uncomfortable, but something you might want to be aware of. Its not enough to lower my opinion of these socks. They're easy to pull on and stay up on my leg where they should. They're also very well constructed. Get a pair, or two, maybe 5? They're worth it! ... show more

Socks can be boring until wearability becomes an issue. We found these socks to fit well, of a weight that’s good for all seasons, durable & work well for loafers as well as boots. So far, the materials used for this sock haven’t shown any evidence of pilling.

I bought two pairs at a store in 2014 and since then it’s the only sock brand I will buy. I still have those original socks and they only have a slightly different color. I wore them on a hiking trip so each one has over 300 miles of use. They are a little expensive but you can buy darn tough socks and never buy any other socks. 100% recommend. ... show more

This is my second pair of Darn Tough socks. I had no idea until I wore these Darn Tough socks how comfortable socks could be. They are so so so comfortable, but also they stay up well and wick away moisture and are super tough. They are 100 times better than any pair of socks I have had previously. Hiking on dirt trails thru the woods with my dog. Wore about 5 times before hand washing and flat air drying. No shrinkage or pilling. Very comfortable and breathable. No sweat or odor.
