  • Don't listen to the haters
SECOND UPDATE - 01/24/2019 I’ve finally finished DS RM on Switch, DLC and all. I can finally say that this is a solid port of probably my all time favorite game. Other than minor frame rate issues experienced for about 20 seconds in one part of the game, it is smooth as butter at 30 FPS. Highly recommend. UPDATE - 01/04/2019 I’m at about 30 hours now and have had almost no issues. I experienced some minor frame rate issues in one specific area (blanking on it now) where it went down to about 20 FPS for a few seconds. Other than that the game has ran flawlessly. ORIGINAL REVIEW Don't listen to the haters. This is a great port for the Switch, it runs pretty well. I've played about 8 hours so far and haven't run in to any major issues. The buttons being switched (lol) around is a little bit annoying at first, but after playing for a few hours it doesn't really cause any issues. The game runs at 30 FPS as many have said, both docked and undocked. I don't find this to be too annoying honestly; and if you think about it, it's actually more similar to the original game as the original ran in 30 FPS. I question whether the Switch can run this game at higher FPS for sure, but it is not deal breaking considering what you get out of it...This isn't a competitive first person shooter. What else could I say about the game that hasn't been said? It's a classic. The level design is amazing, the combat is amazing. It's a game with very mysterious but thought-provoking lore that is explained to you through items and vague hints. You die a lot, but it doesn't suck and isn't overly frustrating... It's fun dying and trying to find a way to get past where you died. I can't recommend it enough. ... show more

  • Finally, "Dark Souls: Remastered" on Nintendo's Switch!
This is the 1st AAA Bandai Namco game that I got for the Switch. And it's actually the first time I've ever played a Dark Souls game. I did try out the Network Test version of the demo before this game came out. And the final version runs pretty well on Switch. Shout outs to Youtubers like RGT85, SpawnWave, Dreamcast Guy, and online sites like IGN and Nintendo Life who gave this game a recommendation. Of course no spoilers, expect to die a lot and there will be frustrations. But you will figure out to learn from your mistakes and how to pull off strategies to beat your opponents and bosses in the game. And once you've beaten certain bosses that were tough as nails, you may feel a sense of great accomplishment. This version may not have great graphics and better visuals like on other platforms like the PS4, PC, and XBOne. But it still runs great on Switch! On handheld & tabletop mode it runs at 720p 30fps. And on docked (TV mode) it runs at 1080p 30fps. So far, I've put over 375 hours on this game, even though I haven't reached the final boss. Can't wait to try this game online to play with friends. This just became one of my favorite games on Switch, next to TLOZ: Breath of The Wild which I'm still currently playing on Wii U. Taking this game on the go is a plus whether you're offline or online. Overall, I highly recommend this game to hardcore gamers and to gamers who just want a bit of a challenge! ;) Update: 6/13/2019 - So far I've logged in over 580 hours. And (spoilers) after finally reaching the final boss which took me five to over six tries, I have finally beaten the game for the first time! Whew, what a relief! Thanks again to Bandai Namco and FromSoftware. They've made a great classic action/rpg video game. Thanks to them for releasing this for the first time on Nintendo's console, a hybrid console, Nintendo Switch! Can't wait to replay this game again. (Spoilers) Just found out after beating the game, I get to use all the items, and weapons that I've acquired from the first game on my second playthru. Definitely, game deserves 5/5 Stars!! ;) ... show more

  • Top 10 games on switch
Do not let your self be left out of playing this great and unique game. People are complaint about bottoms set up instead of talking about the game itself. It's a pity really. Mechanics are good, over 100 weapons and over 10 combat style. The world is huge and entertaining. A lot... A lot of things to do and how you go about the progress is up to you. This game does not hold your hand and it is very much meant to be shared socially as it is not a hack and slash or beatthem up. It has RPG aspects and it's real time combat. Again this is easily a 10/10. Just in case you wander. The game runs at 1080 p. 30 FPS. Hand held at 720p 30 FPS. It is nearly flawless. Definitely one of Fromsoft best tittles. Don't forget. Inquire and be persistent. ... show more
