  • A big improvement for small stuff only!
Pretty much all wood filler putty is a pain to deal with just because of its bizarre consistency that doesn’t spread like anything else that exists. That’s why a tube with a pointy nozzle is useful for filling small stuff like screw holes. Trying to do this with a knife and tub makes it difficult to get the stuff in there without an air bubble or whatever. So then you end up making little balls of putty with your hands and shoving those in the screw holes or similar. That works usually but now you have this junk all over your hands and it takes a little longer. So the tubes are a nice (but not really absolutely required) improvement where you can just squirt the stuff in and smooth it over. What they are not though is a good value per oz or a good package for when you need to scoop out large amounts of the stuff. Try to fill a big area and it will take forever to get enough out of the tub. So I’d very strongly recommend saving these for holes the size of a screw head or smaller and get a larger tub for everything larger than that. ... show more

  • Dap is the one...
and only filler for me. Thank you very much.

  • Does the job.
Works well enough to patch up trim, however I’ve not figured out why they ship 6oz of filler in a tube that can probably hold 32 oz. The lid doesn’t seal very well, and the oversized tube pulls air into itself, giving it a tendency to dry up inside the packaging.

  • Good product
Fixed gaps in wooden door letting in cold drafts

  • Perfect fix
We accidentally tore the handle off the hollow door to the laundry area while storing the door. Giant hole, handle hanging by a bent screw, door didn't look salvageable. I tried this as a last ditch effort - squeezed a bunch into the hole, leveled it out, braced the handle so it wouldn't move out of position while drying, and left it for a day. I fixed a few small dings the door had when I moved in while I was at it. Came back and gave it a quick sanding and some touch up paint, and you'd never know it had been damaged. It was easy to sand but hard enough I didn't have to worry about removing too much or having it crumble like a large spackle repair. Once dry, the handle was securely in place and it should hold up well. I didn't get charged for the door and it's actually a better fix than some of the previous ones before my tenancy. Well worth the money, would use this to patch fix again. ... show more

  • Super handy.
This is so convenient when you’re planning on painting the wood white anyways. Works just as well but blends better. Very strong once dried. I used it to fill some missing chunks in my old decorative door trim and after sanding it melds in well with the existing material.

  • Paste drywall
Good price. Not exactly what I expected. Definitely not as strong as advertised. More like drywall then "plastic" i almost feel like wood filler would have been equivalent. Definitely not for outdoor, washes away easily when wet. I found it fairly soft even when dried for several days. Great for drywall holes, but notnlarger projects ... show more

  • Great product
Excellenrt! I have been doing wood working for over 50 years and this is the best wood filler I have ever used. Smooth not gritty, dries fast but not too fast, get hard and stable with a minimum of shrinkage. sands easy and accepts paint well.
