Former horse trainers, Mandy and Peter were traveling in Europe when they found the perfect “barn shoe” – the traditional clog. They returned with suitcases filled with clogs for family and friends, and soon started selling them from the back of their station wagon. Word of the clogs’ comfort traveled quickly, and Dansko (meaning “Danish shoe”) was born.

Good shoes but with my feet even the 1.5 (or 2”?) heel put my feet at a bad angle so I’m returning them and getting a similar style with a little bit of a platform sole and lower heel (the Beatrice). I like the Mary Jane style and adjustable strap. The wine color is really beautiful too. Most people probably wouldn’t notice the heel and slope of the insole but I need reduced pressure on the ball of the foot. ... show more

I usually love dansko shoes and own several pairs because I need the arch support. My other dansko shoes I was able to wear right out of the box in perfect comfort. Not these! There's no support, zero. I might as well just foget the shoes and walk on my tip toes all day. I wore them one day and am now on day 3 of pain that runs from ankle to knee. These are Dansko so I'm not surprised that these were amazing. I used to wear Dansko clogs when I was a waitress for more than a decade. I am now a flight attendant and we are required to wear a shoe with a heel. I saw Dansko had these so I thought I would give them a try. I have a hammertoe, corns, and bunions for reference. I can work all day on my feet and my feet don't hurt. No break in period. I will say when I had an unusually long day the balls of my feet did burn, but I added a ball pad and that took care of that. Many co-workers have this shoe as well and love it. The velcro is really nice because I can adjust the tightness depending on if my feet swell. I tried Clarks heels, Skypro, and Ecco and returned them all. These are it! ... show more
