I love these! I am on my second pair—the previous ones in taupe finally broke in the heel after several years of monthly-ish wear. I ordered these the night before a work presentation, and they came at 6am, just in time for what I needed them for. I like the black fabric—not matte, not too shiny. Don’t think it will stain easily. The ankle strap is placed perfectly for those of us who weren’t blessed with supermodel legs/ankles. Very flattering. Arch support is, as in all Dansko, superior. The material of the heel is smoother and seems a bit sturdier than in my last pair, which revealed cork chunks inside when they broke. I wear the with ankle or 7/8-length pants and get many compliments. Not too bad for an “orthopedic” shoe (which I need due to permanent foot joint injury). I’m usually a 39 in Danskos and Birks, and the 39 in these fit great. One warning: don’t let your foot slide sideways—it will twist your ankle. I don’t use them for hiking in the woods, so this usually isn’t an issue for me. ... show more

Straight out of the box these shoes feel so good on my feet. They have really good arch support and cushy footbeds, a bit of a heel but not too much. Pretty much perfect. They're going to be a favorite as soon as the weather warms up enough to wear sandals.

    • Dansko: Always awesome comfort, but some shortcuts on quality
I love Dansko. When I bought my first pair I was pregnant. I immediately became a disciple as I realized that my feet didn't hurt after a day of being on them at work, nor did my low back ache as it did with lesser-quality footwear. That was more than 10 years ago. I'm just now having to retire that pair of classic Dansko black mary janes. My new black mary janes are even more stylish than their predecessors. I love the subtle black floral tooling on the leather. And, they are just as comfortable and supportive as my beloved original pair. Unfortunately, I noticed right away that Dansko has traded in some quality details over the last decade. The MJs I bought in 2003 are built of a heavier grade of leather. They also featured a long-wearing rubber sole attached to the solid plastic? trademark base. Finally, the leather was stapled to the shoe base, whereas my new pair is sewn together with a plastic? thread. I have had at least three additional pairs of Dansko shoes in the decade between purchasing the first MJs and the Sam clogs. Two of the three I still own -- a pair of canvas sneaker-replacing mary janes with rubber soles, and a pair of black leather sandals. I consigned a pair of black booties shortly after purchasing them because the style didn't work, although they were very comfortable, if admittedly a little short in the toe box. You will notice that in spite of my disappointment in the evident quality compromises, and my subsequent speculation that this new pair of MJs probably won't last a decade, I have retained the five-star rating for these shoes. I can't rate them four stars = "I like it" when the truth is "I love it." I hope I always will. One caveat, the price has increased from about $80 ten years ago to $125 today. Today's price is at the top end of what I would pay for a pair of shoes that I hope will last at least five years. We will see. ... show more

    • Most comfortable sandals for no arch feet
Size: 6.5-7 Color: Honey
I ordered my normal Dunsko size 37. Wore these for my work. I'm a teacher and standing on my feet all day and these were the most comfortable sandals I've ever own. Color is exactly you see in the picture and the leather quality is great. I have no arch and these suppoymy feet very well.

The shoe itself was well made. I loved the color. I returned the shoes for a couple of reasons, there wasn’t enough traction in the rubber sole of the shoe. I almost slipped on our tiled floor. Maybe this would have resolved itself after some use with bits of sand embedded in the rubber sole. If this was the only issue, I would have kept the show. However, the toe section of the shoe was angled which created an uncomfortable rocking motion whenever I walked. Between the rocking and the lack of traction, I was worried about slipping / falling.
