These are great. No “break-in” period. Velcro to adjust to your foot. And should your feet swell in the summer heat just adjust the Velcro top. Just the right slant to the footbed and not a “platform” or flat sandal, nice heel height. Works well for long stretches of standing on your feet. Note: in a torrential downpour some of the red dye washed onto my feet, lol. This also happened with the turquoise pair. It washes out. But I’d be careful if I had a white pair of slacks with these until you’ve maybe rinsed them under a hose. I have hand scrubbed these with a hose and scrub brush and left to dry at a slant so the water wouldn’t pool. They continue to be very well made and first choice in the morning. ... show more

    • Open back sandal that actually stays on!

The buckles are hiding the Velcro strap and the extra permanent strap helps to hold the open back syle on my feet, yet they are not high enough to risk twisting my ankle. I always wear Dansko best as they support my high arch and are comfortable all day. I wear 8.5=9 and the fit is perfect for me.

    • Don't look too much like orthotics, love the adjustable straps

Heel pain/tendinitis: skip these, they are too hard. Foot molding: I thought these would mold to my feet like Birkenstocks, but after many months, they have not. However, they do have good arch support and are comfortable; I just wish they had a little more cushion. Hallux Ridigus: This is where I'm torn... I had a partial joint replacement of the big toe, and the front of the sandal puts your toes in a slight dorsiflexion position. When I was a few months out, this caused some pain. Now, about 6 months post-op it doesn't. If you have HR without surgery, these provide support without allowing your toes to bend, so it could work, but I would try them on and walk around in the house to make sure it doesn't bend the toes up too much. Swollen feet: The velcro straps are super strong, stay put, and don't look like velcro at all. My friend was shocked that these were "orthopedic." My foot was swollen after surgery, and I could comfortably adjust these during my recovery. ... show more

    • Very Comfortable for City Walking in the Summer

I have wide feet with some messed up toes from years of running and sports. I often have a hard time finding sandals that feel "good" but also hate wearing sneakers in the insane heat. These sandals, however, work perfectly for me. I recently wore them on a trip that involved walking around NYC for 2 days and they were PERFECT. The sole is a Vibram sole so these have the same traction as hiking shoes. The footbed is a cork material that is slightly less rigid than Birkenstocks and very comfortable. The straps velcro closed, but appear as if they are buckled. I like that the sandal looks just dressy enough to wear with a sundress or other summer outfit, but still very comfortable. If you have narrow feet these shoes are NOT going to work, but for me, as someone with wide feet, they fit perfectly. ... show more

I love Dansko, however the Dayna strap sandals that I bought I’m disappointed! I purchased the tan have had them since Feb 27. I wear them and when I’m finished, I put them in my closet. Do not wear them in water in the rain or anything like that. The right shoe is turning much lighter than the left one so it looks like I have two different shoes.. not happy ... show more

Goodbye Birkenstocks, this find is wonderful. As soon as I stood up and walked a few steps, I knew I had found my summer sandal. Wow oh wow, comfortable from the first minute, unlike the stiff Birkis, this is soft and flexible and its a velcro strap, awesome. You can also almost bounce in the shoes. My normal size is 9 W, I took the 8.5-9 and its a perfect width and fit. Going to try another pair, but these cannot be beat. Love them!!! ... show more

The shoe looked very cute in the box, the materials and stitching looked beautiful but the entire shape of the bottom part of the shoe including the insole, shank and outer sole had a bizarre shape. Appears to be a manufacturer defect. No wonder they were on sale. Completely unwearable.
