The last time I had bought Dan Post boots was 1980. Those lasted many years of hard use. I had read several recent reviews critical of "imports" not being as good as the old US-made boots. Based on this new pair, I see absolutely no evidence for that concern. The fit is still perfect, the look is good without being flashy, and the comfort is superior to the recently purchased Justin and Ariat pairs I wear. It feels good to find a respected old brand that has not lowered its standards after so many years.

I wore boots daily for many years but haven't worn them in the last few years. I'm going to an event where I needed a new pair of boots. After a lot of research, I selected the Dan Post Cottonwood Boots. When I received them and opened the box, the smell of new leather was everywhere (I can't get enough of that smell). When I pulled on the boots, they fit and felt as if I had been wearing them for years. Love the look and feel. I highly recommend these boots.

Good quality boot and fits great, however the description says Round Toe but they’re more pointed than round. Not like old school roach killers but not a true round toe.

These boots fit as I hoped right out of the box. My feet are narrow across the heels and wide across the ball. My arches are a little lower than average. I am slim with narrow ankles and calves. Boots made today are made for people with fat feet, ankles and legs. It's refreshing to find a pair of boots that I can wear. Yeah, they're a little loose in the heel and ankle but at least I can wear them relatively comfortably. They're not like a custom boot but better than the run of stuff you find in boot stores, at least around here. At +-$200 they're a real bargain.

I had to find a thick insole and wear heavily cushioned socks to take up the extra room in these boots. I have never had any problems when buying other brands in 10 D, but these are too large for comfort without making adjustments, and the left boot is cut larger than the right through the upper arch. It feels loose and seems like a different last was used. Overall, not the best fitting boots for me, and seemingly would benefit from better quality control. Otherwise they look alright and appear to be tough and durable for a workboot.
