The shoe fits true to size. The heel fits snug and supportive. I did not get a chance to wear them though. Unfortunately, I had to return these boots because the support across the top of the toe showed through the leather when I had the boots on. It is not smooth across the top of the boot, you can see the squared structure plainly (when on). In the past, I had purchased a different style of Dan Post boots and had the same thing occur. I took the chance and did exchange that style to try once again. Fortunately, the exchanged pair did not have the same issue. The leather was smooth like it should be across the toe. It may be that this pair of boots was just made wrong. Kinda hit or miss...I am glad Amazon is so appeasing to allow me the exchange and return of the flawed boots at not extra cost. ... show more

These boots are gorgeous!!! They are a bit small and the opening is small for my calves and arch. I took them to the local boot shop and they stretched them without any issues. It took about a week but it was worth the wait. Did I say they are gorgeous? The store wants to carry them and other people who have seen them love them. It is so hard to find just the right pair of solid black boots especially with the right heel and toe. These have clean lines and they are sooooo comfortable. I wore them all day without any issues. I tried these on in a store then ordered them so knew my size, I'd say I'm usually a 7 in cowboy boots (sometimes a 7.5 but only because I can't get my very high instep into most boots so I buy big for that reason). My daughter recommended Dan Posts for comfort, she wasn't wrong! These are my comfiest cowboy boot! The perfect "dress them up, dress them down, and go with anything" boots. I love that the heel is just a little higher but still so comfortable and I think they look really neat, and pretty sharp. Now I'm kind of wishing all my boots were Dan Post! To me they look and feel better made for the same money as some other boots I tried. I really love them! ... show more

Ended up buying an 11D as the 11 wide was too loose between the toes and the heel. For the first week they were pinching my toes on the top at the base of the toes where the boot flexes when walking. Seems to be a common problem with these boots. Maybe it's just my feet, or the boot size? Another poster with size 11D had the same problem. Overall they are good knock around boots and fit pretty good now, but I did not expect a break-in period of 7-10 days with Dan Post boots from what I had heard about them. There was some cracking in the v at the top of the boot shaft and the inside lining peeks over the top, both on the right boot only. They’re otherwise great; they’re shiny and the scrollwork is pretty. Breaking them in as I type this.
