I've tried other fig jams and they tasted like sugar rather than figs; this spread definitely tastes like quality, ripe figs. I'm sure that, in addition to using it on toast, it would make lovely tarts and cookies too. Arrived smashed with contents completely spilled into the large shipping envelope.This is the second time I've ordered this product. The product is as good as described, but somewhat useless, if it coats the inside of the packaging material.

I was purchasing the 2 pack 8.5 ounce glass jars of this delicious jam regularly, but since I have it for breakfast each morning (on homemade sourdough bread with French salted butter - yes, you may want to try it!) and we also use it on our homemade sourdough pizzas, I was spending too much and tossing a lot of glass into the recycling bin. Found this “food service size” for lack of a better description and couldn’t have been more excited! Package arrived in perfect condition and there are more chunks of figs (likely because of the size) than in the glass jars. If you love this brand (I’ve found it’s one of, if not the best fig spreads I’ve tasted) - it’s much more cost effective and equally delicious. You can also divide it into smaller containers if needed (ensuring they are very clean) for ease of storage/use. Thanks Amazon for having an alternative for those of us “fig jam junkies!” ... show more

My husband and I absolutely LOVE Dalmatia fig spread - we bought the 8 oz jar and could not get enough. We have it on toast, we pair it with goat cheese on crackers - we adore it. So we bought the large one, because it's frankly an amazing value. Like a lot of other reviewers, the plastic tub arrived with a sticky mess - luckily the tub is not cracked and the lid was well sealed, so I'm confident that the sticky mess occurred while the tub was being filled, but still - you can't clean that off before sending it to the warehouse? And how long did it stay like that in the warehouse before it was sent to me? And all that time, it had a sticky mess on the OUTSIDE of the tub, potentially collecting mold and bacteria. That said, it's just as delicious as the small jar, and like I said, I'm not concerned for the freshness because the tub was not cracked and the seal on the lid was not broken, but it's still kind of gross. ... show more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this spread. Costco used to offer it in large jars, but not any longer. I have ordered this lovely large container twice now through Amazon. My second try arrived today. Just as the first, the lid is popped and the beautiful spread is leaking into the bag. First time it shipped with other items and the box was damaged. Today the spread arrived alone and double boxed. But there was no packing other than a bit of bubble wrap around the tub. Nothing to keep the inner box from banging around inside the outer box so the container lid popped. Boo, tears, sadness! I don't know whether or not to give it a third try... ... show more
