  • Size up from men's mitten size
Size: Medium Color: Black
Update: wore them twice while snowboarding. I decided to wear them without liners as it was too hard to get my mitten on with the liners and the braces. The braces are really snug to get on, but not too tight once on. Love them and don't even notice them while riding. I tried riding without them a few times, but regretted it when I fell. I won't ride without them now and I'm trying to convince my husband to get some. I store them in my coat's inner mesh pocket when I'm not riding. I haven't tested them on the mountain yet, but they seem great so far. I wear a men's small Dakine mitten with liner (and possibly a women's large mitten, but that wasn't available). I purchased this brace in a medium and it fits well. So, it seems like you would go up one size from whatever men's size glove/mitten you wear. It does seem like it will rub the webbing of my thumb and pointer finger, so I tried the liners under it and that was better. It fits under my mit just fine and I think I won't notice the brace when I'm snowboarding. I will update this review if anything changes. ... show more

  • Good protection
Size: X-Large Color: Black
Wrists are vulnerable when riding mountain bikes. I won't leave home without these guards.I like the way they are designed and constructed. I'm very particular and handy. With little trouble, I custom tweaked the plastic-enclosed steel bands to better fit into my palms so I can better hold onto my handlebars. Also to better fit over/under (depending on season) my gloves. IMO, nothing like this is going to be perfect straight out of the box. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Best snowboarding wrist guards I've tried
Size: Small Color: Black
There are only so many options out there for proper snowboarding wrist guards with Dakine and Burton being the main two--I have tried them both. Dakine's are far superior and cheaper. I wear these every time I ride since it's easy to slip to your back wrist when riding down steep and icy slopes or while getting extra surfy and far back on the board. I've been knocked around while wearing these and gone down on the wrists but have felt protected each time. When I was forced to buy and wear the Burton guards in Park City after losing one of my Dakine, I immediately realized how unsubstantial and lacking the Burton brand's are; they offer little to no protection, are extremely soft and short, and when I came down on my wrist I felt pain that I would not have felt if I were wearing Dakine. So I made sure to order another pair of Dakine after that trip. I wear a size small (note I'm a 5'1" woman with small but muscular wrists), the neoprene around the wrist can feel tight but will slightly stretch out over time to be more comfortable. I knocked a star since the thumb hole is the tightest area and it can cause irritation around the crease of the thumb after wearing all day. You'll also need to wash these every so often as the neoprene material makes you sweat around the wrist and yes they will smell :) ... show more

  • Buy large if you wear medium
Size: Large Color: Black
I went with the advice of the other reviews and bought a size up. I'm glad I did. The advertised measurement says I wear a medium. But I bought the large size and it is very tight fitting. Can't imagine how tight it would have be if I bought a medium. Overall, the wrist guard is comfortable and easy to put on since it has one strap. Recommended. Just buy a size up ... show more

  • Too stiff - protect your wrist but risk breaking your arm
Size: X-Large Color: Black
My research into wrist guards taught me that the guards should not be too stiff. Wrist guards that are stiff and inflexible could cause a fracture of the forearm instead of the wrist. These Dakine wrist guards appear to contain a metal insert that does not allow for any wrist flex. I felt like my forearm would be at risk if I used these. I didn't want to take that chance so I sent them back for a refund. Others reviews regarding the small size of these wrist guards are accurate. I wear and size 9 (large) glove and the XL wrist guards fit me OK. If you want a better protection for snow sports, Dakine still makes a glove (as of 2024) with a built-in wrist guard that does flex. I used these gloves for several seasons and experienced no injuries despite several good crashes on the slopes. ... show more

  • protection is gr8.
Size: Medium Color: Black
The protection is gr8, the wrap around the wrist is velcro, is very tight. Got a med size b4, getting the next size up would b a perfect fit.

  • Order a size up
Size: Large Color: Black
I can usually teeter between medium and large gloves, a medium when I want a tighter fit, but these fit pretty small. Ordered the large and it's too restrictive causing my hands to cramp. Quality feels great and seems to be well made, just a tad small. I gave the smaller pair to my girl and ordered myself an XL pair. ... show more

  • Great guards for the price.
Size: XX-Large Color: Black
These are quality. Sizing was spot on with an xl. A bit hard to get them in your mittens or gloves but totally doable
