  • Time saver!
Style: Soprano Sax
I have become a big fan of these D’Addario swabs. I have one for each of my horns. They come in specific sizes for soprano, alto, and tenor. If you have a budget horn that came with the fluffy ones, get rid of that and get one of these for your horns! Because these are far superior having lint free, long fibers, they can reach the tone holes and pads. After using the cloth swab, I use this by spinning and moving it up and down opening all the closed keys to help dry them off. My incidence of sticky keys has nearly disappeared without having to individually use drying cloths or papers. The fibers are long enough to brush the tone holes where they contact the pads. This has significantly reduced the time that I spend on cleaning up my instruments. Now, I may only have to do intricate cleaning once every month or two. ... show more

  • Little smaller than I expected but still works.

  • Should have looked closer.
Style: Bb Clarinet
The swabs are fine but I wished I would have noticed there wasn’t a handle on them.

  • Great brand I needed this for my saxophone
Style: Alto Sax
D’Addario say no more. I got a student saxophone so I can begin my learning journey with this instrument. unfortunately the cleaning clothes they provide are not adaquit for how well I want to take care of my instrument so that's where this pad guard comes into play. It does it's job exactly as described making cleaning a lot easier than pulling a cloth through the instrument with a string. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to speed up their cleaning process with a brand name you can trust. ... show more

  • I have 1 for my Tenor Sax, too
Style: Alto Sax
I use the one that I bought for my Tenor Sax for 16 years.

  • Smooth as silk
Style: Alto Sax
I have always used a silk swab and an end plug on my sax. This pad guard minimizes the swabbing and offers better end plug protection for the octave stem. It slides in and out easily and is nice and soft.

Style: Alto Sax
Was exactly what I needed for my Alto.

  • Does the job!
Style: Bb Clarinet
Handy to store and it removes the moisture in my clarinet after I finish playing. It is a good cleaning tool for the money.
