I've used different products before, and so far I think I would rather have the other product than this. It is way too oily and does not perform like that other one.. I wouldn't recommend this, but maybe good for a beginner.

my Daddario nyxl coated strings started feeling gummy after a few weeks of playing so I picked up some of this stuff to try to make the strings feel better but it seems like it just makes the strings feel greasy for a bit then wipes off if you apply it before you play, but I found if you apply it after you play and let it dry on the strings over night it actually feels nice and slick without being greasy. ... show more

I’ve been using ghs FastFret for years, but was hoping this new product would do a better job of reducing string noise, mainly for recording purposes. It didn’t perform any better than what I’d been using, so I returned it for a refund. D’Addario makes a lot of great stuff — I use their NYXL electric guitar and bass strings and some of their accessories, but I wasn’t impressed with this stuff (nor was I impressed by a competitor’s String Fuel, I hasten to add). This thing does exactly what you want it to do. It's just some sort of sponge applicator with a solution that you rub onto your strings real quick and they let your fingers GLIDE afterwards. It's like WD40 for your strings. Goodbye friction, hello effortless playing. Not sure how long the applicator will last, but when it runs out, I'll be buying another one.
