I am very happy with these lights. The sets are small but they give off a lot of light. I ordered 6 pieces of the cool white sets to use in lanterns for a church wedding. They were a little tricky to unfold but not that bad. The good part is that the wire is a little firm so the lights can stand on their own in the lanterns. Also the battery case is small and easy to hide. I draped lights inside an 8 inch x 4 inch lantern and they filled the entire lantern with light. Very nice. I just ordered another set in warm white to use in other decorations. These sets are more affordable than flameless candles. If your lanterns are large and if you want a lot of light, you may want to use more than one set of lights in each lantern. Note: I tested all 6 sets and they all worked. ... show more

I am going to use these in lanterns which will contain various decorations. My first thoughts are that they are unexpectedly bright, a plus, and so easy to use. I don't feel like setting timers and settings. It's not necessary. The battery case is tiny and can be tucked away out of sight. These are something new for me. I can tell they will work well for my lantern projects, but of course I do not know how long they will last. I don't plan to keep them on for long periods of time. Must be the cheapest batteries in the world. The first set (2) per string last all of 15 minutes. The second string batteries lasted 35 minutes. While the lights are good, you'll have to buy good quality batteries is you are going to use these for anything more than half an hour. Two quality batteries will cost twice the price of the light string, so be aware. The little slide switch on the side is tiny and I think fragile, so be careful turning these things on and off. I needed some lights for a shadow box I was working on. My wife went to a store and came back with an 8 foot long string. :/ The y had to wrap around inside the box that was 6 inches square. She returned them and I hunted all over. Then I found these!! Not only are they the perfect length for small projects but the tiny bulbs put out a surprising amount of light. I do wish however that the battery box held AAA's, but not a big deal. ... show more

i think these are perfectly fine and i am using them but i was actually looking for something a little warmer and less bright but someone else might really like them for exactly the reason i am not quite thrilled with them. i certainly have many places i can use them but am still on the hunt for something a little softer. i am not a big fan of the LED look. i should add that this is my fault because they are advertised as COOL white and starry which they are! ... show more

The lights look good, but the strings are only about 3 feet long. I used these to decorate my office plant, but after leaving them on overnight ONE time, I came back to the office to find that they had died. And replacing the batteries is no easy task: You have to use a teeny tiny screwdriver to remove the backing (4 screws) and then the batteries are those flat silver watch batteries - not exactly the kind you keep on hand at home like (AA or AAA). ... show more
