    • My hill is my nemesis
The media could not be loaded. We moved to a brand new house on the top of a hill. It’s not a giant slope, but we do have to deal with it daily to walk the dog, go to the mailbox (of course it is down the hill), and such. Our walks always start going down and end going up. I was struggling specially with the going up part at the end of the walk. First I tried a jogging stroller. The big air tires make it easy to go up and down the hill, but I was not completely satisfied, so I got this stroller with electric assist as well. I was expecting a huge difference going up. It’s just a small difference (compared to the jogging stroller - it is literally a mountain of difference if you compare to a regular full size baby stroller though). And, honestly, I’m not sure if going up with the jogging stroller is any worse than that. It’s about the same effort basically. I feel that this stroller works better at a straight incline (like in the video). Our hill starts just slightly inclined and then becomes steep at the end. I feel like it kind of keeps the same amount of assistance from bottom to top, so it seems to work better in constant hills. Now for going down it actually helps a lot, it slows down to the point that it would be safe even if you accidentally let go off the stroller. Sometimes it’s too slow though, so I would rather just use the wrist strap when going down, with the electric assist turned off. One feature that I was not expecting to use but was a pleasantly surprised is the rocking mode on the app. It can actually rock my 1 year old to sleep! The stroller seat lays near flat, which is great. Assembling it was not as straightforward as I think it should be. While I appreciate the attempt of using universal design principles for the instructions manual (no text, just images, which means it works in any language, amazing!), I wish it had a bit more instructions next to some of the pics. The good news is that you only have to assemble it once. Anyway, it’s not the perfect solution as I hoped to go up our hill. But it is a nice stroller overall. Here’s my pro / con list: Pros It’s such a pretty stroller Huge extendable canopy Nice sized basket Can be folded with seat Safety strap on the handlebar (and adjustable handlebar) Slows down for going down Rocking mode Cons Not so great going up Sometimes you have to turn it on and turn it off several times until it “connects”, that red light is so annoying The cup holder position is weird, too low for parent, too high for baby. Folding is weird and not as straightforward as other strollers I owned You can’t add a rider board or anything else for a second kid Assembling is harder than it should be My overall assessment is that it is a pretty full size stroller, that is fully functional even if you keep the motor turned off. So if you’re thinking between the Priam and the e-Priam, just go for it. But if you need it for going up and down hills, you might want to look at a jogging stroller as a possible solution as well. ... show more

We live in a very hilly area of San Francisco, CA, USA. This stroller is perfect for walks around the neighborhood. The electric boost makes scaling the hills with baby and stroller much easier, and the motor even slows the stroller on downhills.     • the best baby shower gift ever
First of all, this was gifted to my sister in law who was having a new baby ! But if you are going to gift this, try to ship it directly to the recipient because the box will be likely arriving in bad condition party because this is a large sized, heavy item. I actually shipped it to my place and surprised her with this gift, and let me tell you that she never hugged me that hard lol This sealed the deal as me being her favorite sister in law ( although I am the only choice she got lol) Anyway, that was about 6 months ago. Now, my new niece has been riding this for the last 3 months, and I think she, not only my sister in law, loves it as well. My brother's opinion is irrelevant as he would just say he likes it anyway lol With another child to take care of, anything that makes it easier is a huge plus for new mom I think. Now, what you probably most appreciate about this particular one is the engine that helps you move around the rough terrain (or hills of any sort). You just push the handlebar slightly (really, you don't really need much of force to do so), the engine kicks in, which can be easily operated (on and off) owing to the hidden? sensors under the leather. The battery pack can be easily detached to be charged as well. I got recommended this brand from a friend who's been using Cybex Priam 3 model which I have tested when she came over. I think I like this model better although this one is a bit (about 5 pounds) heavier. Other than the different handle, I think two are quite similar as well.
