I acquired this scope for placing on a rifle that I will be purchasing in the near future. I had researched a few thermal scopes in the past and the main use of the scope will be to spot vermin that sometimes come onto a family’s ranch during the evening hours. In short, this scope works very well. I was impressed at how it picks up thermal heat for the size of this device. I was testing the unit out on my balcony in the evening and spotted a pack of seven deer walking by that was around 200 yards away. The scope states it can pick up heat signatures at 1000+ yards, which I think is possible, however I was able to make out objects more clearly at 300+ yards. Settings on the scope, well…the best advice I can say is to simply go in and play around with it and know how the controls work. Understand what the buttons do in terms of scrolling and enabling certain settings. The settings are too long to list, but all I can say is just take the time to get fluent with how the scope works and its features. There are settings for color temperatures, targets, background environments, and more. While I have not zeroed in the scope yet, this will be something I definitely will want to use the wifi connection on my phone to help with. Speaking of wifi, you can connect with your phone to copy over photos or videos of what you capture on your scope, which is a nice feature. There are some things that can be improved, though. For example, the buttons do take a bit of pressure to engage, there is no LED indicator letting you know the battery if the fully charged. Rather have to you look at the battery meter when the scope is turned on. The unit comes with an extra battery, which is nice to have on standby for a quick swap out. The other thing is that the scope is a tad bulky, but that is to be expected given the technology. I imagine in the future the footprint and weight might decrease as technology advances. This scope is not designed for home defense, but rather hunting or land maintenance. While I’m not a thermal scope expert, I would probably place this scope in the entry level category. It’s great to have and use the technology for some fluency. If I worked at a ranch full time and had to keep wild predators off the land as my main job, I probably might explore other models. However, for the price range, I think this is a great model.

This came with everything pictured, packaged well without any visible damage. This optic is small and lightweight comparatively speaking. I am very happy with this product!

I am so happy that CVLIFE has gotten into the thermal scope game because I have reviewed a lot of their stuff and it is always very nice quality at a substantially discounted price compared to others in the same category, and this scope is on par with that assessment. The battery life isn't great, but it also has a removable battery so you can easily carry spares if needed. The image quality varies a lot as well, depending on which thermal mode you are using but it is also very easy to toggle the modes. Personally, I'm a big fan of the Red Hot mode when I'm looking for something to target, and then I will toggle to the white hot or black hot mode because those give the most clarity overall but the Red Hot mode is very grainy. The mount for this scope is very easy to operate and install onto a standard picatinny rail, and I only did a few test shots with it but I had no issues with recoil affecting the overall image appearance and quality. I completely forgot to go over how nice the included carrying case is in my video, but it is very nice and very low profile/compact without sacrificing protection so it is a lot more feasible to carry around in your gear bag than many other thermal scopes. This is also one of those type of items where reading about it isn't going to give you much insight as to how it actually performs so I apologize for the brevity for such a nice product in my written portion, but hopefully my video does it enough justice because I was holding the scope in my hands while adjusting focus and toggling through everything and the portion of my video that actually captures a rabbit jumping around in my backyard. Another really nice aspect of this thermal scope is the fact that the app that can connect directly to the scope is free and the APP DOES NOT REQUIRE A SUBSCRIPTION! If I am remembering correctly, I also don't believe that I had to provide an email address in order to use the app, but that aspect I don't recall for sure but I know this brand and I trust it a heck of a lot more than some non-US made products that are likely to sell your information and such because they aren't held to the same standards. Another really cool thing about the app is that it mirrors the eyepiece display including all the menu navigation and such, but you have to navigate the menu with the scope buttons themselves as opposed to clicking on a touch screen. Overall, I am pretty happy with this scope because of a lot of reasons, but I've also tested out a $950 thermal scope and this was very comparable in terms of performance and image quality, so the fact that this is so fairly priced makes me comfortable giving it my full recommendation! That said, I highly urge you to check out my video and decide for yourself because I took two different recordings with the scope itself using the app that connects directly to the scope so I feel like that's going to give you the best idea of what to expect with this.

I went into this purchase expecting a basic budget thermal, but it has honestly exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Right out of the box, you can tell this isn't some cheap, thrown-together optic because it feels incredibly solid and well-built in the hand. The image clarity is surprisingly sharp for this price range, and the 50Hz refresh rate keeps the view smooth when scanning across a field or tracking movement. I’ve been using it to check out wildlife at night, and while I haven't even tapped into all the various features and color palettes yet, what I've used so far has been more than enough to impress me. It does exactly what it's supposed to do without any technical glitches or performance issues so far. Since it is packed with different settings and modes, there is a bit of a learning curve to get the menu navigation down perfectly, but it becomes intuitive enough after a few sessions. It’s easily one of the best entry-level thermal scopes I’ve come across, delivering a long detection range and high sensitivity that you usually only find in much more expensive units. Whether you're using it for serious tasks or just curious about what's lurking in the dark while camping, it provides a lot of value. It's easy to charge, rugged enough for outdoor use, and honestly just a very cool piece of technology that works remarkably well for the cost. Pros: Excellent image quality and high sensitivity for a budget friendly unit. Smooth refresh rate makes scanning large areas effortless. Rugged build quality that feels professional and durable. Long detection range that competes well with higher-end models. Cons: Slight learning curve with the various features and settings. Menu navigation takes a little practice to master quickly.

I bought this thermal scope thinking it would be a solid option for hunting, but after actually using it, I’m pretty disappointed. The biggest issue is the distance. It claims a really long detection range, but in real use I couldn’t get anything close to that. Maybe it can “detect” something under perfect conditions, but that doesn’t mean you can actually see clearly what it is. For hunting, that makes a big difference. I don’t just need to know there is a warm spot somewhere — I need to be able to tell what I’m looking at. The image quality also doesn’t look nearly as clear as the pictures make it seem. What I saw through the scope was much softer and blurrier than expected, especially at longer distances. It works, but it’s not the sharp, clean thermal image. The zeroing was also frustrating. The one-shot zero feature sounds nice, but it didn’t work well for me. Even after trying to zero it, the shots still didn’t feel consistently on point. I had to keep adjusting, and I never felt fully confident with it. Overall, it might be okay for short-range use, but for serious hunting, I expected better clarity, better accuracy, and a more honest real-world range.

review doesn’t really do the image quality justice. The live image through the scope looks noticeably better than the photos and videos that get downloaded from the device. That’s one of my few complaints, as the recorded media seems to lose some detail compared to what you’re actually seeing in real time. As a thermal scope, it performs very well. The sensor does a good job detecting heat signatures, and the 1024x768 OLED display provides a crisp, easy-to-view image. The optical magnification combined with digital zoom gives plenty of flexibility for scanning and identifying targets at different distances. I also appreciate the multiple color palettes and image adjustment options that allow you to tailor the display to different environments and conditions. One feature that really adds value is the Wi-Fi connectivity and companion app. The app isn’t perfect, but it’s functional and easy enough to use. Being able to view a live image from the scope on your phone is extremely useful, and the app also allows access to many of the scope’s settings and controls without having to navigate everything directly on the unit. Battery life has been solid in my experience. The replaceable rechargeable battery design is a big advantage over devices with built-in batteries, especially for longer outings. Fast charging support is another welcome feature. The scope itself feels well-built and includes many features that are often found on more expensive units. The onboard photo and video recording, app connectivity, multiple viewing modes, adjustable settings, and user-friendly controls make it a versatile option for hunting, wildlife observation, and property monitoring. No, this isn’t the highest-end thermal scope on the market. There are certainly models that offer higher resolution sensors and more refined image processing. However, those options typically cost significantly more. For the money, this scope delivers a lot of performance and functionality. Overall, if you’re looking for a capable thermal scope with a strong feature set, good image quality, app support, recording capability, and solid battery life without spending premium thermal-scope money, this is a very good value. My minor complaints about the downloaded image quality and the average app experience aren’t enough to outweigh everything this scope does well.
