  • 34mm tube makes all the difference in low light
Style: MOA
I put this 6-24x50, with 34mm tube, beside a more expensive 6-36x56, with a 30mm tube, on a cloudy and gray overcast day, and this one was less cloudy. So yes this 50mm objective lens scope was better at light gathering than my 56mm objective lens scope. I can't for sure say it was the larger tube, maybe it was the lens coatings, but I can say there was a big difference (in the conditions I compared them in). This one was only a little cloudy at max zoom but still very usable on 24" targets 1000 yards away. My other larger one was almost unusable at max zoom looking at targets 1000 yards away, and when dialed back to 24 zoom to match this one it could still only be used reliably to probably about 600 yards under these severe overcast conditions. In good sunlight I couldn't really tell a difference. So I bought this one again and now I have two, both are mounted and being used, the larger, more expensive one, is in the box it came in and stashed in the safe. One of these is on a 6.5 Creedmore with the included rings (mounted on a 20 MOA rail) and has hit targets at 700 yards (which is as far as I have tried shooting so far). The other one of these I have mounted with a one piece 20 MOA scope mount and have only shot it to 200 yards but so far it is good as the first one. I don't know if it is good or as clear as a 3000 dollar scope (or even a 1000 dollar scope) because I have not looked through anything more expensive than about 600 dollar scopes and this beats everything else I have looked through in low light, except my 600 dollar Leopold hunting scope that is way lower zoom but never clouds up and can see in complete darkness and doesn't need a lighted reticle because the hunting reticle turns from black to gold in low/ no light. But my Leopold doesn't have turrets or MOA hashes on the reticle so it is not user friendly for long range target pew pewing. I like that this scope has a movable zero stop for elevation and my only complaint is that the elevation turret does not lock. I guess when target shooting you will check or re-set the elevation setting every time you switch targets, so I guess possible changes from bumping when transporting is not a big deal, it hasn't been for me but I transport both of my pew pews with these scopes in a hard case. The windage turret does lock, someone explain that to me. I have bought all my scopes, 7 in the last 4 months (none were given to me) and I have not been compensated in any way by anyone and so far I am most happy with the two of these CVLIFE BearPower 6-24x50 that I own . ... show more

  • Still up in the air
Style: MOA
I've gone back and forth with this scope. I decided I wanted to put it on a .300 Win Mag. Perhaps the ammo I'm testing with isn't what the rifle will shoot well since the accuracy just hasn't been the best. It'll seem that I get it sighted in and then shoot it after the barrel has cooled and it'll be random. So, I can't really fault the scope on that. The included rings have 2 lugs on them so you may not be able to attach them to regular 2 piece bases so I purchased a 1 piece EGW rail for my M70. Another issue was because I installed a 20 MOA base to squeeze all the trajectory adjustment I could out of it. At 100 yards I was hitting extremely low (almost 30") and I was out of adjustment and couldn't lower anymore. I reached out to cvlife and they responded quickly and answered my question. They said to loosen the stop ring and I could further lower elevation. It was just enough to get me so I could get my elevation very close. Kudos to them. I'll attach the picture they sent me of the ring. I'll need to try some different ammo and come back to this review with final thoughts. ... show more

  • This is a great scope
Style: MOA
I finally got to take it to the range today. I have it mounted on my Ruger precision rimfire 22LR. The scope is nice and bright, easy to zero, and held zero through 100 rounds today. It shot well using aguila extra, wolf match which is made by Eley. I was able to keep the groups very tight at 50 yards. I plan to try it at 100 yards, where I expect the groups to open up a little bit but so far it is a fantastic scope on a fantastic rimfire rifle. ... show more

  • WAS a good deal, but didn't work... Twice.
The media could not be loaded. Update after more range trips: - The reticle is weird: that 0.5 mil gap between the 1 mil mark and the illuminated crosshair is right where you need a hash mark if you're actually adjusting your point of aim using the mil marks! - In all, this works well enough on a .22 right now, for NRL-22 style shooting out to 100 yards, which is the max at my local club. At greater distances I would plink but not use it for budget-limited division because you'll need to start using turrets and you need to do some testing before you know whether you got a unit with reliable tracking. If you get a good one, what to expect: - What you see: My photos are at 50 yards (Ignore the groups in my photo, those were from a handgun). - Clarity is... You can see the resolving power test target in my photo here. 10cm x 10cm @ 100m is legible, - you can clearly identify .22" holes at that distance, but do not expect to be using this scope at greater distances. - Tracking is not perfect, shooting a test box with 2 mils in each direction, it'll return to center about 0.2 mils high and to the right. - Zero stop not like other scopes I've used, weird that you cannot adjust "up" at all meaning in order to get ~140 mils of adjustment "down" you lose the ability to zero with crosshairs if you have anything but a Zero-MOA rail (no 10/15/20 MOA rails with this optic) - Illumination is just not good: only the center crosshair is illuminated, but the light bleeds onto the rest of the reticle so you're seeing multiple brightnesses depending on where you look. So far I got two of these: - First one, was DOA: Parallax knob was so tight I could barely move it by hand, saw another review here about a parallax wheel fixing the issue so I printed one and tried it on. Spinning the parallax knob just loosened the whole internal mechanism. - Second one, Amazon replacement, No mechanical problems... But there's actual debris inside the scope body, which you can see stuck to the glass (inside the scope) in my photo. CVLife responded with a good discount and I'm keeping the second one for range toy use. ... show more
