This is probably an unorthodox use for this product, but it does save our arms from getting too scraped when our big macaw is riding on an arm. He doesn't mean to scrape our skin, but his claws are so big that it can't be helped except with an arm cover of some kind.

My friend has a puppy with very sharp nails and I put these on right before visiting so the pup doesn't ear up my arms. They work great! I haven't used them yet for trimming the bushes but I think they'll be very helpful with that, too. They are light and not hot to wear.

This worked very well for me. I have noticed my skin getting more fragile as I age so this protects me from getting scratches while pruning bushes, and I assume it will work as well while working on the car. The only downside is the first day out, it got a snag which I have to figure out how to fix as it is in the palm and is likely to catch on things. I recommend this but suggest wearing gloves when using this but a great protective sleeve for me. Update - second time wearing them they got another snag where the elastic is pulled out.     • They are great if working among prickly things. Very narrow thorns can still get you, however.

I have fat upper arms and these are just flexible enough to get on and stay on. These have been a huge help while doing various trimming jobs around our overgrown lawn. They are hot in the summer, but worth it to not have arms that are all scraped up. My gardening gloves can fit over the ends, but if you wear snug gloves that would be an issue. These are still a weave, however, so if you have long, thin thorns you are working with, you still might feel some pokes. ... show more

I seriously needed protection from mosquitoes and for too long avoided all gardening because I'm a magnet for them. I've been using these for a few months now and recommend them highly. I wear a short sleeve shirt and gloves with them; I have not had any mosquitoes get through! Surprisingly, they are not hot although they are made of thick material. I can't say they protect against thorns completely but they do create enough of a barrier that your chance of being seriously stuck is minimized. They are slim fitting which works for my girly bi-ceps but might be tight on another. For comfort and mosquito protection I give this two thumbs up! ... show more
