I was able to put this together myself in about an hour. The instructions are straightforward with pictures. Even if the stickers fall off, which some did, the pictures are descriptive enough to figure out the pieces. You don’t need any tools, but a Phillips screwdriver could make things run a little smoother if you don’t want to use the smaller tools in the package. I just put this together and haven’t fastened it to the wall yet, but that comes with the hardware. I don’t know how long this will last but all the pieces felt sturdy and the wood felt quality, not like the particle/MDF pieces you sometime gets, though I believe this is MDF, just sturdier feeling. My daughter loves it and I can’t wait to use some or all of it for a dollhouse in the future, right now we need book/toy storage. ... show more

I took a chance with shipping and it worked out. My box had a big hole in it but the shelf was fine. It’s really nice and sturdy. My only complaint is the back board is a really cheap looking white. I will probably eventually wallpaper the back to make it look more cute, but this is a good alternative to more expensive brands. ... show more

Instead of paying $699 for a really expensive dollhouse bookshelf that wasn’t exactly what I wanted, I purchased this and I’m adding to it to make my own. We priced out the lumber cost to DIY this from scratch but it was more expensive (and less time efficient). This went together quick with no issues. Like the built in anchoring. For anyone who needs ideas, I bought the shingles and glue from Amazon. Going to Home Depot for some trim in the front. The way this is set up, you could EASILY put some cute stick on wallpaper on the backing before you build it but I wasn’t prepared enough for that. Like the size, style, and concept of the item. However, there are manufacturing flaws in that the bead board channels do not all line up and that is not something we can fix based on how it’s put together. Also wish they provided screw covers or caps so it looks finished.
