  • Exactly what I needed !
Model: 100FT
This is almost exactly what I need, I will be using this to heat the lines of a spray foam gun , the lines need to be between 60-80° F. I was worried that this would be self adjusting heat cable and would only heat to a preset temp inside the trace itself. But as you can see the time can go to 150°f and the controller will shut it of at what temp you set it to. My only complaint is I wish tje controller would go to 80°f. But that is just me being nit picky. This will work great for what I need! I wish the people who make these will tell us what the max temp the heat trace can run up too. ... show more

  • Most Excellent
Model: 6FT
I was very happy with the way these work after I installed them. MUCH better than the old style ones that are ON or OFF only and not regulated. You can also cross over the tape and do what ever you want with them. The old ones would burn or short out if you did that. These are excellent.

  • Works very well for outside animals to keep water from freezing
Model: 30FT
I bought this cable for some outside animals we have to help keep them warm when it gets bitter cold and to help keep their water from freezing. I love the adjustment and the LED screen display. It works exceptionally well.

  • This Heat Tape Wrap Works As Advertised!
Model: 6FT
This heat tape contains everything you need to install it right out of the box, including foil tape and zip ties. To make sure it was working properly, I placed sensor is ice water and after about 5 minutes you could feel the tape warming up and working. I suggest you do the same test and leave sensor in until tape uncoils from heat since wire is pretty stiff and tightly coiled out of the box. If the 6' length is too long you can double wrap pipe without a problem. Instructions are very well written and understandable. The nice part is that the sensor doesn't need to be touching pipe to work as some other brands suggest doing. If you are wrapping PVC pipe, I suggest you hold on to pipe with one hand white wrapping since wire is pretty stiff when cold to prevent possibility of cracking pipe. This heat tape is ideal for the large fountain in our development and would highly recommend it to anyone needing to prevent pipes from freezing - it just works as advertised! ... show more

  • Prevents expensive repairs!
Model: 6FT
This like most heat tapes, don't give off a lot of heat (they'd be a fire hazard if they did), but do enough to keep pipes from freezing and bursting. These are very cheap insurance vs a repair. Last year we had a hard freeze and everywhere that these were installed (and plugged in) stayed liquid and intact at both my house and rental. However, anywhere that water wasn't left running or didn't have one of these installed froze and leaked. One place in my kitchen didn't have one of these and I had to cut into the outside wall to repair. There's no telling how much it would've cost me had I not done the repairs myself, but just materials was several hundred dollars. Lesson Learned! ... show more

  • Good value, works well
Model: 6FT
The heat cable appears to be well made and it works as described. I tested it by using an ice pack and a digital thermometer to test its on and off range accuracy. The actual cut in and cut out temperatures are with in a couple of degrees of listed values. Things that I liked about this heat cable; * It comes complete with zip ties and tape to strap it to the pipe for easy installation. * There is a pilot light on the plug to indicate that there power to the unit. This does not indicate that the is on, just that the plug is energized. *It appears to be study and well built. * A good value at about 40% less than that I could fined it locally. What I don't like about the unit is that there are no amperage ratings listed for the unit. There is no amp rating in the listing, in the instruction manual, on the box or the unit itself. If you are using this on a dedicated circuit, this should not be a problem, but they should list the electrical ratings for any electrical device. ... show more
