Last spring, without this treatment, pond water became like green oil and the fish wouldn't even come up. The spot where the filter pump water stream hit the pond churned up like bright Kelly green viscous goo, and it took until July to win the battle with numerous repeated chemical and natural treatments and adding lots of pond plants to finally clear the water. This spring tried adding this cold water Spring and Fall prep product at startup. Water is still green tinged from suspended algae, but no way is it as as horrible bad as last spring. (More a watery broth instead of a thick hearty pea soup LoL.) Started weekly treatments at startup this spring as directed but then increased to treatment every 3 day doses for "continuing problem" dosage. No fish or frog harm, water lilies seem to be leafing toward surface okay. Rigorous filtering and filter media changes are pulling more and more suspended algae from the water. Also now adding API Sludge Destroyer product that is a powdered barley straw bacteria treatment. Though still greenish, fish come up and I can see a lot farther down into water. I am pretty confident that when it warms up enough to add water lettuce and water hyacinths for shade and nutrient uptake, and water lily leaves fan out, the green water problem will be resolve. Will use this for sure next fall and hope to get better results in spring. This is a pond of approx. 750 gallons, in full sun and a LOT of shebunkins.

Needed to get a bacteria population established quick because I hadn't properly cycled the pond prior to adding fish. I'm assuming this product did the trick because I lost 0 fish after adding one of these packets. As for clearing up the water, I can't claim this worked over my filtration system.
