How long has it been since one of the decision makers at Crosley Furniture have put one of these units together? Likely quite a while. Please be prepared with some Goo Gone or WD-40 because the stickers warning us regarding the California cancer causing materials (including wood?) were affixed by the Marquis de Sade. This is surprising since I was unaware he had moved to China, or even knew the Crosleys. The unit (read shelf, not the Marquis’) is very nice, but I am often amazed by how manufacturers can so actively pursue producing items that frustrate customers. I know there is a special place in hell for the people who put UPC codes on the bottom of 50# bags of cat litter, and I believe the person who invented the label glue used by the Crosleys will suffer the same fate. ... show more

I received the wrong item and based on other pictures other people have too! Unfortunately I didn’t realize this until the shelf was fully configured. The shelf’s dimensions are not as described, the nails - none of them fit perfectly (part of the nail is hanging out if the hole) and actually messed up 2 of my screw drivers. I could tell that the color was off (more of a muddled brown-gold) and the height of the top shelf is not as high compared to the order page. The brand was Better Homes & Gardens and not Crosley. Buyer beware. I’ve already contacted the seller. It’s going to be a pain to disassemble and return this shelf. I don’t recommend buying this item at all. ... show more

I needed something to visually balance an off-center window in my living room, but didn't want something that would be visually "heavy". I saw a similar shelf on Ballard Design's website, but it was more than I wanted to spend. This one is the same measurements and seems to be great quality, for a fraction of the price. I have a very narrow loft and these are just perfect! I do recommend bolting them at the top just to be sure they are stable on carpet. They look beautiful.

This was definitely worth the money. It’s more of a brass, matte finish. But definitely still beautiful. It was easy to put together, just had about 40 screws that needed to be screwed in. Took me about 45 minutes to an hour to put it together on my own. It was wobbly once I finished it however, once I put my books and picture frames on it, it was sturdier. I researched bookcases and when I stumbled upon this one (LISTED as Crosley Furniture)....I checked other sites and saw positive reviews and higher prices. I thought that maybe this was some overstock, so I took the chance and purchased. What I received in place of the Crosley bookcase advertised was a Better Homes and Gardens Nola bookcase which I could have purchased at a major retailer (we all know who carries BHG merchandise) for $120.
