The vinyl is good, and the color is beautiful (I got champagne). It cut well, although I had to set my Cricut maker to cut twice so it could cut all the way through. I have the original Cricut maker, so I wasn’t able to use the vinyl without the cutting mat (or at least I haven’t taken the risk of using it without one). The backing, though, is thick so it can be cut without a mat on newer machine models, which is pretty cool but it made it extremely hard for me to get it on to transfer paper to place on the surface of my project. The vinyl stuck strongly to its backing, and the thickness of that backing made it really hard to roll it back as I tried to place the decal words on transfer tape. Maybe I just wasn’t doing something right. The vinyl I got is permanent, but I found some spots were not sticking to the surface of my project (it was frame glass). I did make sure to clean the glass before hand to make sure no dust or skin oils were on the glass. Not sure I’ll use smart vinyl again because of how difficult it was for me to transfer it on to transfer tape due to the thick backing, but maybe I’ll change my mind in the future. Maybe I need more experience with it.
