I have spent a lot of time on christmas cards and other holiday items so it's a good idea to have fresh clean mats on hand. When the stickiness declines the materials tend to slide during the cutting process and that just wastes materials. What can you really say? …. Well it’s made by cricket for cricket so the qualities is definitely top-notch and as long as you check the layout of your canvas, making sure you’re cutting area is correct than your blades will not destroy the matt and properly cut your material. If you’re new to cricket then realize that the maths will not last forever, but with proper care, you should be able to create many projects on each Matt before having to replace it. It is important to make sure your Matt is properly placed into the tabs that hold the mat down while feeding the mat into the machine because if not, the Matt could possibly feed sideways bending your mat, I do wish that cricket would’ve made the feed hold down tabs a little wider, preventing the possibility of the mat, not feeding properly into the machine. In regards to the functionality of this, Matt, it does what it’s supposed to do and hold your material enough that it should not destroy the material once trying to peel it away, but it is important to use the bending technique when removing your material from the Matt and not just try and peel it away if it’s lying flat.. Also in regards to cleaning the Matt, I just use a little bit of dish soap and water using my hand to scrub the mouth clean and then just let it air dry and the sticky material is still able to be used on your next project. All of the photos presented in this review were performed on one Matt and the Matt is still performing as it did on day one which demonstrates the quality of the Matt and its performance. I've never been able to find a light grip cutting mat outside of the Cricut brand that was good. All the other ones out there have been so strong that they have ripped the paper that I put on it and they might as well be a standard or strong grip mat. This Cricut brand one however is sticky enough to provide a strong hold on paper/sticker paper (what I mainly use it for) without destroying the material when I lift it off the mat.     • Super Sticky Mats That Get the Job Done

I absolutely love my Cricut and all the crafty projects it lets me dive into, but there’s one thing I really hate is how quickly my cutting mats lose their stickiness. I’ve seen tons of “hacks” to bring the stickiness back, but I’m too scared of messing up my cutting blade or, heaven forbid, my entire Cricut machine. So, I’ve learned it’s just more cost-efficient to buy a new mat than to risk wrecking a blade or the whole setup. But I digress, let’s get to the review. Amazon is my go-to for Cricut mats, and when my infusible ink transfers stopped sticking to my lightweight mats, I jumped on and got these new ones the next day. They work great overall, but here’s the thing, these mats might work too well. They’re almost as sticky as the standard grip (green) mats, which made it tough when I had to reposition my ink transfer. I’m a little afraid of what they might do to cardstock, but I’m sure the stickiness will fade with time. It’s not a huge deal, just something to keep in mind. The real win here is the price! You get 3 mats for a pretty reasonable cost, and they’re name-brand Cricut products, not some sketchy knockoffs. So while I’m knocking off one star for the super stickiness, these mats are still a solid buy if you need replacements. Just make sure you’re ready to commit to that sticky life! ... show more
