This shaving cream has done absolute wonders helping me to achieve the smooth, clean-shaven look I desire. My facial hair tends to grow out fairly quickly, which means I usually have fairly heavy stubble within just 24 hours of my next shave. Prior to discovering this Cremo product, my daily shaving routine consisted of using only an electric shaver coupled with a pre-shave powder stick (i.e., Remington Face Saver Model SP-5) in the morning. Due to my heavy stubble, using any sort of blade was completely out of the question because that had previously proven to be a bit too painful/uncomfortable and irritating for my somewhat sensitive skin. I used that electric shaving method for years, but frequently disliked my resulting facial appearance by just early to mid-afternoon. Because of my heavy stubble growth, it was not uncommon for me to appear as if I had the beginnings of a classic five o’clock shadow… WAY before five o’clock. That irritated me because I always felt as though it made me look somewhat unkempt in the workplace, despite my very best efforts to appear otherwise throughout the entire day. One day, I happened to stumble upon this Cremo product on the shelf at Walmart. I read the info on the back of the squeeze tube and found the claims of this cream to be a bit intriguing… so I decided to give it a try just for the heck of it. Wow, was this ever a game-changer for me! I was totally impressed then... and still remain so today. This stuff is like lube for one’s face. LOL. Now, I still continue to pre-shave using my electric razor but then immediately follow-up by applying this cream and use a 4-blade disposable razor (my personal preference). Here’s the directions from the back of the Cremo tube: “Rub skin with the hottest water you can stand for 30 seconds. Crème is highly concentrated and water activated. Massage an almond-sized dollop onto your wet skin until a light lather forms. Less is often best. Shave. Add water as needed to keep it slippery, effective and easy to rinse from razor.” Just as those instructions say, I find that the most important part of this whole process is softening my stubble with hot water. The hotter and longer, the better. That’s how I manage to get the very smoothest shave. If I hurry that process and/or use less hot water, the result is simply not as good. Essentially, this seems to be the same thing that old-time barbers use to do when they would place a very hot towel on a gentleman’s face prior to giving him a shave using a straight blade. While it’s not always convenient or possible to do so, I actually find that shaving while in the shower works especially well because of all the hot water being used there. Also, as the instructions say, only an almond-size amount of this cream is needed. Believe it or not, that small amount goes a long way. There’s really no need to use any more than that. This also means that a single tube of Cremo seems to go a pretty long way. Whenever I feel as though some extra lubrication is needed, I simply splash on a bit of hot water and rub things a bit to relubricate. Simple as that, just like the directions say. A little bit of water is all that’s needed… not more cream. Over-lathering does nothing but clog up the razor blade. Because of this cream, the blades of my disposable razor now glide effortlessly over my slippery skin. I also find the mild, citrusy scent of this shaving cream to be quite pleasant and refreshing. The result? A completely effortless and pain-free shave. My face now feels as smooth as a baby’s bottom (sound’s too much like a cliché, I know), which I never before thought would be possible to achieve without a professional shave. Only reason I bought it from here is because Walmart ran out of it for like months on end. I’m a shower shaver, with a mirror and this stuff just takes a dime size dab and away you go. It’s very slick and a tube will last a long time if you don’t over do it. It puts a thin coating of white on the skin and not like foam stuff that’s more of a waste if you ask me. There are many scents they make from this brand but I just enjoy the original They also make a few for the ladies to. Bottom line - it’s good stuff and a little goes a long way. It says 90 day supply on the tube and I have gotten that and even more out of it. ... show more

Product works great! Very slippery and lubricated. Skin feels great during and especially after the shave. A little goes a long way. The only drawback to me is that the Sandalwood is very powerful. Which can be a good thing. However if you, like myself, like to wear men’s fragrance….. then the smell of this Sandalwood cream competes with the fragrance that I am wearing. This cream would couple best with an oriental or sweeter gourmand fragrances. (think Parfums De Marley’s Habdan, or Bulgari Man in Black, something darker and warm spicy)……. BUT if you want to wear a Bleu fragrance or a fresher fragrance offering…..It won’t pair well. I do love the smell of this sandalwood cream….. but perhaps I need another on hand as well….. or better yet, an unscented one. ... show more

I had tried this product previously and it was ok. Discovered that I was using it incorrectly! I was trying to use it more as a shave lotion instead of a 'soap'. Put a small amount in your wet hands, lather it up like hand soap, then apply to the area you inded to shave. Great protection against Nick's and leaves my skin soft, not dry. ... show more

I've never really had a bad experience using a Cremo product, and it was much the same with this shaving cream. It smells nice, applies and moisturizes well, and provides a barrier when shaving. While I do tend towards more traditionally scented shaving cream, this is certainly a good alternative.
