This is a very giftable craft set that packs a lot of fun into a compact container. It would appeal to minimalist moms. Instead of being packaged in a big box as some bead kits are, this is in a clear reusable, recyclable plastic jar. It has a shiny maroon screw top with a decorative sticker printed with "Makes 40+ Bracelets: Includes 10 yards of gel cord and instructions." A unicorn themed product tag is tied on the jar with a maroon-colored elastic cord with beads on the ends. The beads in the kit are high quality in various colors and shapes. Some colors included are white, coral, blue, pink, purple, green, yellow and more. Some are matte, iridescent or shiny. Shapes are round, faceted, stars, hearts, alphabet beads with colorful letters and more. The largest bead is unicorn shaped, which is about 7/8" high. The smallest are the alphabet beads which are about 1/4". Since my granddaughter has friends that are boys, I wondered if she could make friendship bracelets suitable for them with this set. I ordered this for my young daughter who's obsessed with making bead jewelry. The Jewelry Jar comes with adorable Mermaid-style beads, including mermaid tails, seashells, rainbow-colored balls, as well as pearl-like beads, and beads in mermaid colors like pink, purple, green, and aqua. There are also heart-shaped initial beads, so it seems like you can make plenty of bracelets with just this kit. Unfortunately, the container doesn't allow easy access to the beads at the bottom, so you need to pour them all onto a plate to select the ones you want to use. It also includes 10 yards of gel cord, which is of good quality and stretchy. Many children's jewelry kits come with cheap rubber cords, but I think this cord is comparable to what you'd use for adult jewelry making. ... show more

This kit was perfect for us. My daughter loves Mermaids and ocean things. This bracelet kit had everything we needed to sit down and have fun being creative together. For the little ones it also is something hands on that isn’t the iPad or TV and helps them use their creativity while crafting. We’ve had fun and made some bracelets with it. We poured it into a sandwich size storage container while working so we would not have the beads rolling all over the place and it gave us a little more room to see the beads and things. Our elementary-age daughter thinks these look like so much fun and she loves the beads included and the colors. We like that it is a contained little gift that would work well in an Easter basket, bdays, birthday parties, etc. My children are invited to attend parties for school friends often, and this is just in the right size/price range for taking to a school friend. This is a very nice variety of beads with enough string to make quite a few bracelets or necklaces. There are clear beads, colored beads, sparkly beads and beads with letters on them. The container has a screw top and, while it looks like glass, it is made of plastic. I'm not sure how big of as drop the container would take, but it won't shatter like a glass one would.
