FIRST, if you've got a top loader washer, you're going to be disappointed LOL. Fortunately in my case, I have a few rental properties, a couple of which have side loaders sooo it ended up on top of those. Key points, this thing is large, comes in a BIG box, and is HEAVY. If you're a non weightlifting woman *wink* you'll most likely appreciate some help getting this thing into your house and onto your machines:). Next, it's very simple to install the side rails using the included dowels (they even included a few extras) using the included soft faced mallet. It also appears to be waterproof, looks good, and is stout enough to keep whatever you choose to place on your washer/dryer combo secure and protected from falling off the back or sides where they're almost impossible to retrieve ( I hate 'fishing' around for that stuff). One more piece of advise, on the bottom of the countertop is I think felt, and depending on the design and finish of your units, can be slippery. One longterm tenant couple mentioned this so I ended up cutting a silicone rubber mat to fit, and that solved the issue. All together, it's an excellent product; not only adding functionality, but cosmetic improvement as well:) 5 Stars, and RECOMMENDED

Great idea! Make use of that unsightly space on top of your laundry appliances. Super easy setup. Looks great. Works great. Sturdy and space saving. Not cheap but more than worth it. The bottom of the countertop is covered in felt to protect the machines. It comes with complete instructions and three extra dowels. The countertop was exactly the size of our standard width laundry machines. The weight of it also helped reduce the vibration of the spin cycles! That was an unanticipated benefit. Key points, this thing is large, comes in a BIG box, and is HEAVY. It also appears to be waterproof, looks good, and is stout enough to keep whatever you choose to place on your washer/dryer combo secure and protected from falling off the back or sides where they're almost impossible to retrieve. Assembly was quick and straightforward, and once in place, it instantly made the laundry area feel more organized and closer to what I envision for my laundry room.

This is a large bamboo counter that fits on top of a washer and dryer. It is 54" x 27.5" and requires assembly. The bottom of the countertop is covered in felt to protect the machines. It comes with complete instructions and three extra dowels. The package weighs over 30 pounds and is very large and awkward to carry. It is almost the size of a door. Getting it down into the basement was the first challenge. My husband took that one successfully. The next challenge was getting it out of the box. It was very well protected with Styrofoam and plastic bubble wrap. After all the tape cutting and unwrapping, the next challenge was assembly. The three "rails" for the countertop had dowels on them that needed to be fitted together using a rubber mallet to form the raised countertop rails. Then those joined rail pieces needed to be attached to the flat countertop. It was a bit challenging to wrestle the counter piece around, but the dowels fit easily, and the assembly was ultimately successful. I called for help to get the countertop on top of the washer and dryer. It is much easier with two people. The countertop was exactly the size of our Whirlpool Duet laundry machines. It really looks way better than the regular tops of the machines. The weight of it also helped reduce the vibration of the spin cycles! That was an unanticipated benefit. This is a nice, neat addition to our laundry room. It is expensive, but it looks so nice and feels so fancy. Make sure you measure your machines before you buy this countertop. I did, and I couldn't be more pleased with the nice, neat "bespoke" appearance. Almost makes doing laundry less tiresome. :)

This countertop looks elegant and is well made. The size is just right for my washer and dryer. The edge rails need to be attached, which is pretty straightforward, but the rails should be first attached to each other and then to the board. I made a mistake of starting to assemble before reading the instructions, and although I managed to install them, it would be easier if I did it in the correct order. One shortcoming which can be easily remedied, is that the board has felt on the bottom. It may help preventing scratching the washer and dryer, but it makes it slide easily. I will need to put some rubber pads underneath to make it stay put. Also, my washer and dryer have pedestals, so it makes the height impractical to me to use it as a folding table, but the rails will still prevent things from falling behind the washer and dryer.

I purchased this after comparing several similar products, and I’m glad I went with this one. From the first use, it was clear that this product was designed with the user in mind. This bamboo topper is really nice looking, and the size gives me plenty of room for folding, sorting, and keeping laundry supplies within reach. The edge rails are a great feature because they actually keep small items from sliding off the sides, which happens constantly on my homemade topper without sides. Assembly was quick and straightforward, and once in place, it instantly made the laundry area feel more organized and closer to what I envision for my laundry room. The only slight downside is the felt on the bottom. It protects the machines from scratches and cuts down on noise, but it also makes the entire topper slide much too easily. If you bump it or lean on one side, it shifts. I’m going to put a rubber mat or some non-slip padding under it to keep it steady because the felt alone doesn’t do the job. I did not deduct a star because I understand the intent and because it easy to modify for my needs. It’s a great topper that's sturdy, attractive, and genuinely useful. Just know that you may need to add something underneath if you want it to stay in place.

This thing is massive., it was all I could do to get it in the house. But once it was in place it is very nice to have over your washer and dryer. It gives you lots of space to store things that you normally wouldn't store on top of your washer dryer. It has a felt backing & a non need slip work surface. It's made of bamboo & is waterproof. The walnut finish on the work surface looks great & fits in very well with our other countertops. Having a rim around 3 sides ensures that whatever you store on it will stay put. My only concern is how easy will it be to take back off & maneuver out of our little wash room if one of them needs some type of service.
