I was looking for a new urban sketching art bag, one that would match my pencil/pen rolls and pouches in color and would be simple in style as to not attract too much attention. I also wanted a zipper top since my previous tote was open. I purchased the Covelin Casual Tote in Navy to test it. The canvas is not thick, but serviceable. The crossbody strap is a good length. I find the zipper is weak and fear it will be the breaking point of the bag. The size of the bag is perfect for all my art supplies, zips them up and keeps them out of sight, and is lightweight to carry. As I've used the bag, I found I really loved it, zipper non-withstanding. I ended up buying a second one in grey-purple for my writing kit and am thinking of adding a black one as a general tote in the future. If a sturdy zipper is a must on your list, you may want to look elsewhere, but otherwise I can recommend this inexpensive tote. The color choices are wonderful and the canvas is of decent quality. Perfect size to use as my personal bag on flight, all electronics and chargers and medication. Then once arrived used as my beach bag, to carry sunscreen, sunglasses, book an water bottle. love all the color options. I bought the seafoam green, which gave me a beachy summer vibe I was going for.     • Several Months in and Still as Pleased as Day One!

UPDATE November 2022: I wanted to give some updates with my experience regarding this product! Current Colors: I have now purchased the black, dark green, red, cerise, celestial blue, sea green, and violet purple. I got so many compliments on my purple purse that I started giving them as gifts for others! Tag Removal: So I have tried this a couple different ways now on each purse. I tried removing the tag from inside the purse and then on the outside of the purse of a different one. The result was exactly the same. When they come in I remove the tag with a seam ripper. I still suggest they stop adding the tag even though, yes, it is easy to remove. I feel sorry for those working hard to stitch these when they are coming right off upon receiving the product. Immediately after taking the tag off I can still see a bit of the stitching holes, but then I launder it next. After washing, for me, the tag remnant holes have looked non-existent. I get a lot more compliments on these when they are off. Laundering: The only color that bled for me so far was the purple. I still need to wash the red so we will see how that one goes. I still wash them separately and in a zippered laundry bag on a delicate, cold cycle and hang to dry. Presentation: All the purses have arrived in pristine condition except for one black one that smelled like burnt campfire. The others have been great. Pricing: I try to order the purse options that are around the $10 mark. I have noticed that *usually* they are cheaper when off season which I guess is the case for many things. I needed a holiday red for a project and reluctantly paid about $14 for it. However, the rest I chose when they have been right around $10-$11 total. I would guess holiday sales and inventory also contribute to the price. I am going to look at spring and summer colors for friends now when they are likely cheaper. I waited until the black purse finally went on sale and got it recently for right around $11. Usage: Lastly, I am embarrassed to admit that I pile things in this purse to busting open capacity. I mean it is f-u-l-l. So very full. Yet, no buckles breaking, no seams ripping, and the zipper remains intact. For the price of a fast food meal I have gotten three months of continual use for my purple purse. I have been so pleased with the quality and how it has held up. I hope this update helps you!! ________________________________________________________________________________________ Original Review August 2022: Color: I ordered the purple color which is gorgeous in person. If you like pink or purple you will likely love the pretty shade. Cost: It was under $10 when I purchased it. I loved it so much I immediately ordered the only other color I could find that was also under $10. Use: I like this for when I go to doctor appointments or areas where it is not as clean. This enables me to easily wash the purse. Laundering: I washed the purple in a larger lingerie bag and so far it has done beautifully. It did color the lingerie bag (which I figured would be the case) so I chose one that already had pink on it prior to wash. Canvas can do weird things with repeated washing so we will see how it goes in the future. So far, it washed beautifully and the color looks just as brilliant. I also hung it to dry which helps. Con: So far I really like everything about this item except two things. One, the stitching of the inside pockets goes through to the outside of the purse because it is only one layer of fabric. If you are really attentive to detail or good at sewing, this might bother you. I don't love it, but it does what I need for the price. Second, the product label is just odd. It is big and the wording isn't the most fluid. I wish it had no label or the label was like a pretty flower or something. Ha. Overall: The quality is good and the price is great. Color: Light Purple
I love the color! I purchased the light purple bag and the product photos are spot on! I think the price is reasonable for moderate use. If you’re planning on daily usage, I can see the zipper longevity being an issue. But if you need an extra bag for random appointments or activities where you need a carry all, this is a great option, especially for the size. Be aware of the width though if you’re considering carrying books. It’s not very wide. I think a bit over 4”. These would also make great swag bags for birthdays, bridesmaids or girls weekends. Mine arrived neatly folded in a cellophane bag. You should launder it before use, it had a bit of a chemical smell but nothing horrible. I suggest a large delicate bag and then lay flat to air dry. ... show more

Much like everyone else, I took a seam ripper to the silly patch on the outside. It's a thin canvas material, has a couple pockets sewn inside. I didn't expect a heck of a lot for 12 bucks but I'd say it is cute. I wish it had a longer strap on it, as I'm 5'11" and it comes up a little higher on my hips as a crossbody than I would like. I purchased this bag in light grey and was forced to discard it to enter a baseball game. I decided to try a different color and ordered the light zebra. The gray is more of a linen look material and the zebra more rough and canvas like. I returned it and ordered the grey again as I preferred it. The color I got was tomato. It’s a bright orangey red, exactly what I wanted. I love a bag that holds all of my useless crap, and this does it for me. The material is thick enough to not snag on anything. It also stays on my shoulder, it doesn’t slip down. Love love love it.

The color is very nice. I started using this tote as my everyday bag and I don’t regret it at all. The material is a bit cheap but it you’re only paying 11-19 dollars for it that’s to be expected.
