Update: 2 years later bulbs burned out and wont stand by warranty
Ok, so as Im writing this, let me make it clear, I just installed these the afternoon of this review, and I just took a test drive through light polluted Miami, but was able to find a dark residential neighborhood, as well as a long stretch of road through the everglades, and I have to say, these seem to be on initial inspection pretty good lights. I'm coming from Yumseen H11 bulbs, that seem to burn out every 12-14 months and I've had to replace them 2-3 times in a 3 year period. Now you cant even buy them anymore. Anyways, these bulbs after a short drive seem to be the best yet. Clear & even light pattern, that when I got out to inspect further, were NOT blinding. Also no one flashed there high beams at me to indicate they were too bright, but they did a very nice job of lighting up the road. I gave these a 4 out of 5 for the simple fact, I dont have enough use with them to go all the way up to a 5. Longevity and Reliability go a long way as well, and I need to see if these will last. Hopefully past the 2 year warranty, but certainly not before. Maybe in a few months to a year down the road, I'll come back and update this review for you guys, but for right now, I would say go ahead and order these. Not too expensive, and might just be what you're looking for. Also one final thing, take it for what it's worth, but with the old bulbs my rear driver side LED turn signal would always be dimly lit for some reason, but only the driver side. When I got out to inspect the brightness, I noticed the bulb was completely off as it should be. I checked to make sure it worked, and it did just fine, so I'm going to take it as a sign that the old bulbs were just plain bad, and creating a power issue and these new ones will be good going forward. UPDATE* 2 years later,bulbs burned out & Cougar refuses to stand by the quality of their product. Won't honor warranty because it's over 2 years. I can no longer endorse this product ... show more

I purchased these from amazon on April 17, 2019. Pros: Fast shipping from amazon. Amazon is great. I love amazon. These bulbs came in a nice box.It was packaged nicely came to me unbroken. These lights are bright, as they should since they are new. I enjoyed them for about 7 months! Plug and play design but depends on the car you have, install can take a while. Cons: Not much to say about these bulbs quality wise. These bulbs are the same as the cheeper ones on amazon you can buy. Almost $50 with tax and These bulbs lasted 7 months! Cougar Motor ones are no special. Now warranty is another hassle. I dont know about other people but currently im trying to have it replaced with Emma and it has been a horrible experience. In order for me to get it replaced emma said i have to take the bulb out, cut the wire, take a picture and send the photo to them first before they send me the replacement. We have been emailing back n forth with emma as i am writing this review. Now my car requires me to take the battery out, take the bumper off to get to the bulb. Emma wants me to do the work twice for these cheap bulbs. I explained emma that it is alot of work and i can return the broken bulb once I receive the new one. Her answer is, “if you want a warranty, i have to cut the wire of the bulb, take a picture and send it to her first. Im no sure if this is happening to other people. But i wanted to share my experience about these bulbs and the company. I will personally stay away from cougar motor because other cheap products on amazon are just as good and cost half of what they are selling it for. I adored these lights, they lasted for a good 75,000 miles. (I'm not kidding, I put these in at 68k, and now I'm well over 147k) That being said, the last year they were in, the outer pad stopped being very bright, so I couldn't see the edge of the road, or as you turned left, into the space you are turning into. But, given the complexity of changing lights on a Ford Fusion, I couldn't get to it until late spring 2023. In any event, the lights themselves are still 1/2 way good in that the inner pad still works, and is very bright, so if my car wasn't the sweet ride it still is, one could effectively still use these bulbs, probably for another 30-50k without any issue. That's a lot of longevity. These bulbs are warrantied for 2 years, but they have no idea how many miles a person can do (especially at night) in that time frame. I figure I got 4 good years out of them, after not driving anywhere for all of 2020 due to Covid. I searched for 2 whole months for something to go into my 2015 Ford Fusion that would not only fit into the confined space of the light housing, but also provide the brightness and thick lighting I was looking for. It's not just about how "bright" something is, or the "lumens" as many manufacturers like to taut. Indeed, I had some fog lights from another company that were very bright, and looked perfect outside the box, all shiny and gold, but the placement of the LED's in the plastic fog lamp housing didn't "throw" enough light out onto the road, where its needed. The Cougar Motor Lights, in this Golden model are exceptionally built. One of the troubles I've had with lights of the past, LED chiefly among them, is getting all of what is included to fit inside the housing, and still seal it up with the weather-tight, rubber gaskets that come on the Fusion. I really didn't want to have to take a cutting tool and cut out parts of the light housing, just to get an LED to fit. I know they do sell modified weather gaskets on Amazon, which I suggest if your going to go with the other style of LED's as this well allow the fan to protrude out the back, and have the needed ventilation to keep the light from dying on you. These H11's are wonderful, they just plug in, and your done. I suggest for adjusting the headlights on the low beams (which is what these replaced) to pull up perpendicular to another vehicle, and lower the lights until they are just about 4 inches from the side window of another car. This way if you go over a bump/rise you won't automatically blind an oncoming driver. These lights remind me Die-cast Matchbox cars. While not shiny gold as depicted in the picture, they are fully metal. So they're not going to break on you, if you have to give them a little push to get the lights to install securely. I noticed the old LED's I had in the lens, which were only about 3 months old, the outer glass had shattered and the bulb itself seemed a bit loose in its socket. I've had these lights installed for 3 weeks [Now going past 1 year]. I have had no issues, no flickering, no problems at all. My pics are taken with a Canon 6D at various apertures using an ND-8 filter to show the difference, in before and after. My old LED's were the 4-way kind, with those large pads that throw light everywhere. Fortunately the Fusion has a half-cap inside the projector lenses to prevent light from escaping in a circle, and make it more flat and DOT conforming. The pictures speak for themselves. The first two pics are of my old LED's in the same projector housing. Sorta bright, but doesn't "throw" the light ahead nearly enough to make driving, in anywhere but a well-lit city worthwhile. Sadly I paid about the same for these 4-way, large yellow pad lights. Note: that the Cougar lights are a little bit longer than the stock Halogens, so be careful shoving them into your vehicle's light housing. While the light is less concentrated on the ground in front, it "projects" further down the road. Note: I can see much farther with the Cougar LEDs, and in the suburbs you tend not to use High Beams as there is always someone coming. These are easy to install, minus the time it takes to tear apart the whole front end of a Ford Fusion, which is like a 4-6 hour process the first time, and a 2-3 hour process the 2nd time. Hint: Loosen the bolt in the fender well, and remove the plastic center bolt, but don't take out the bolts, just pull the fascia off. ***The trick with replacing your lights...add something else to it. Do an oil change, antifreeze flush, anything because for the time spent taking your car apart, you better do something else while all the covers and cowls are removed because it's a lot of screw-bolts to get off for just a set of headlights. --Brett S. So I am not a big reviewer. But these led headlights are great! They came well packaged. I won’r get into the construction of the bulbs as there are plenty of reviews that do that. So I installed these on a 2014 Ford F250 Super Duty. The original bulbs were looking very dated. There are videos on how to change the headlight bulbs on this truck. Do yourself a favor a watch them. There is one hidden screw under the bottom of the housing. Install took about 20 mins. MAKE SURE you identify the thin side and fat side of the bulb. There is an adjustment ring on the led bulb that comes off and goes on the headlight housing first. The bulb will screw and lock back into this ring on the headlight housing. The fat side must end up at the 6 o’clock position. If you dont do this you light pattern will be way off. The ease of install will vary from vehicle to vehicle. These lights are crazy bright ar night. Light pattern appears near stock with no light flares on low beam. High beam is the same. I can see much better now and much farter down the road. Only 4 stars for now because time will tell about the longevity. ... show more

Great brightness but fans make loud noise

When I initially installed the LED bulbs, I thought they were great. Super bright and easy to install. One night, I kept hearing a loud humming noise from inside my car while it was running and figured it was the engine fan just cooling off the radiator. Since I installed the bulbs during the summer months and car AC was always on, I didn’t think much of it since it was normal for the engine fan to come on while AC was running. . Months passed and after a while, the loud humming noise became very annoying. I thought something was wrong with my engine so one night while sitting in the car idling, I look under the hood and noticed the engine fan wasn’t even running. I listen around and finally realized the noise was coming from the fans of the LED headlight bulbs. I turn off the headlights and low and behold, the humming noise stops. Since my return window had closed, I figured I’d just deal with it. But after a while, the humming noise was just too much to bear since the noise was always present every time the headlights came on. You can’t hear it while driving on the freeway but during city driving, you can definitely notice it. I finally decided to purchase fanless LED bulbs instead and those are just as bright and zero noise. These bulbs would be great if not for the loud noise they make every time they come on. Instead, wasted money since bulbs are just sitting in a box in my garage. ... show more

Ok. Has some flaws.
Overall I give this 3 stars because they fit the classification of OK. Nor good or great but definitely not bad. First of all I have a 98 toyota 4 runner if anyone is curious. Now they are stupid bright and installed just fine. However there are a couple design flaws I've noticed. First one is that you can not reinstall the dust covers with these bulbs. If that is the case then they should of provided new ones that fit. Another thing is the high and low beam settings. I played with them and rotated the bulbs like they suggested and while they definitely get brighter in high mode they don't really get any higher. So you kind of have to pick when installing them how high you want them. Either have the high and bright or low and be polite to other cars. Lastly after installing these the high beam dash light no longer worked. All the other lights work fine still. I cant really explain this one but it worked fine before install. Not the end of the world but worth noting. Over all I WOULD buy again. But not a perfect product. ... show more

Installation in 2015 Ford F-150
This headlight bulb is great. You will be pleased with the color and brightness. Here are some tips if you are installing this bulb in a 2015 Ford F-150 or similar model. The installation is difficult not because of the bulb, but rather it is difficult because Ford buried the bulbs in a place that is impossible to access unless you remove parts of the vehicle. Some YouTube videos advise you to come from below under the wheel well covers. Bad idea. At best you can only reach up blindly and fumble to get to the bulbs. That is assuming you can get the covers out of the way. For the driver side the easy way was is to remove the air filter and air filter assembly. This is really easy. There are multiple YouTube videos that show this approach. For the passenger side the only way I found was to remove the headlight assembly. This involves removing the trim piece, part of the wheel well cowling, the sub trim, and then the actual headlight assembly. Coming from below or under the battery case is impossible. Be careful, there are lots of blind clips in the trim, and if you break it I can only imagine how expensive that trim piece will be. Check out YouTube for videos on removing the entire headlight assembly. For both sides the bulb fits under the 4" rubber dust boot that protects the bulb. The H11 type of bulb is super easy to install after you get to the rubber dust boot. This headlight bulb has the electrical connections and cooling fan on the side so it fits perfectly under the boot. The bottom line, these lights work great on my Ford F-150. Installation is difficult but not beyond your reach if you are handy. If you are not handy I would not recommend you tackle this installation. An auto body shop would be an alternative to DIY ... show more

Great lights

Great for the Mazda Tribute 2004. The cable is too big to fit through the dust cap but once the dust caps are off the lights are really bright and worth the money. The lights are a bright white not blue which I enjoy but if you are a blue lights person its good to know.
