You cannot control paint on and off with trigger. Air starts flowing as soon as compressor is turned on there is no air valve. You can only paint amount with trigger.

This was came in packaging labeled as a makeup airbrush; BUT it works great with my enamel paints. As a hobbyist, I'm always looking for ways to save on money on my tools, but on ones that still do the job just as well. This one is great to pack out in my travel kit. Even if it was listed as a makeup applicator.
