🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Corsair RM850x fully modular power supply unit (PSU) has been praised for its excellent efficiency and silent operation, with notable features including an impressive low-noise fan, exceptional power delivery, and a great build quality. One unique factor to consider, however, is the design of its shift model, specifically suited for side-mounted PSU slots; this may not be compatible with some cases and can present wiring and heat dissipation challenges.

Pros

  • 👍 High-quality build, solid, and durable
  • 🌟 Excellent power efficiency and power delivery
  • 🔇 Very quiet operation, with Zero RPM fan mode
  • ⚙️ Great modularity allowing for easy cable management

Cons

  • ⚠️ May not fit into smaller PC cases because of its size
  • 🔄 In the Shift model, side out connector may not be intuitive for some setups
  • 💼 The Shift model might cause some spacing issues in narrower cases
  • ⚡ Potential heat dissipation challenges due to wiring placement (again in Shift model)

Should I Buy It?

If you're seeking a high-quality, highly efficient PSU that offers seamless and quiet operation, the Corsair RM850x undoubtedly fits the bill. However, be mindful of whether the fully modular design suits your particular PC case and setup. If you're considering the Shift model, ensure that it fits with the space and wiring layout of your case. Overall, this PSU is certainly a worthwhile investment for tech-savvy users and gamers.

  • Outstanding Power and Efficiency for High-Performance Systems!
Style: RMx Color: Black Size: 1000W
The Corsair RMX Series (2021), RM1000x, 1000 Watt power supply is an absolute powerhouse that has exceeded my expectations in every way. As an enthusiast with a high-performance system, finding a reliable and efficient power supply is crucial, and the RM1000x delivers exceptional performance. First and foremost, the power delivery of this PSU is outstanding. With a whopping 1000 watts of power, it effortlessly handles the demands of my system, including multiple graphics cards, high-end processors, and numerous peripherals. It ensures a stable and consistent power supply, preventing any fluctuations that could potentially harm my components. The efficiency of the RM1000x is equally impressive. It is 80 PLUS Gold certified, which means it operates with high energy efficiency, minimizing wasted energy and reducing heat generation. This not only helps to lower my electricity bills but also keeps my system running cooler, ultimately extending the lifespan of my components. Another notable feature of the RM1000x is its modular design. The fully modular cables provide excellent flexibility and ease of cable management. It allows me to connect only the cables I need, reducing clutter inside my system and improving airflow. The cables themselves are of high quality and feel robust, ensuring a reliable and secure connection. Corsair's attention to detail and build quality are evident in the RM1000x. The power supply unit is solidly constructed, and the fan operates quietly, even under heavy load. The zero RPM fan mode is particularly useful during idle or low-load scenarios, ensuring silent operation and minimizing unnecessary noise. Moreover, the RM1000x features an array of advanced protection features, including over-voltage, under-voltage, and short-circuit protection. These safeguards give me peace of mind, knowing that my system is well-protected against any potential electrical issues. ... show more

  • Works perfectly

Came with a lot of cables and very high quality. When on low load, the fan doesn’t even spin so it’s great for sound.

  • Not for some cases...
Style: RMx Shift (ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0) Color: Black Size: 850W
This is a great quality product from well-known reputable company, a PSU with great modularity and great performance, and frankly a good value. Lots of connectors and on the shift model, if that's what you're looking at side mounted connection points. Here's where the details come in. Is this PSU is primarily for cases with side mounted PSU slots, while in a wider case this might work in a flat mount situation, most likely you are going to need a fairly wide case to house the wiring coming off the supply without bending the wires too much. Even then in some side mount cases, or the PSU is mounted on its side, the wires sticking upright can still impede on certain things, for example with the Lian-Li o11 dynamic XL, The upright facing ports for the connectors on the wires to plug into impede with the bottom hot swap hard drive bay. Now if I really wanted to press the wires down flat against the power supply unit I could probably still fit the hot swap bay in the case, but it wouldn't give much room for the wires, nor allow for much passive heat dissipation from the PSU. In this particular instance with the case I chose a standard end connector output PSU would have been the better choice, as there is ample room at the end for wiring clutter, but due to the hot swap bay mounted above the power supply unit, the side output of the shift model is not intuitive for my case. Removal of the bottom hot swap bay in my case alleviated the issue, but also presents the inconvenience of not having all four hot swap bays available. I never thought I would use this feature, but over the years as I have acquired multiple hard drives and stored up massive amounts of data, it actually comes in handy for moving data back and forth between drives. So no stars docked for the design it's actually great, just really think about whether or not you need the side output connectors and whether or not you will have enough room in your case. They make it more convenient to plug and unplug additional wires without having to remove the power supply unit completely, however you may run into spacing issues in smaller cases. Situationally recommended. ... show more
