The media could not be loaded. This is a high quality set of stoneware. It comes with everything you need, various sizes and lids. Oven, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher safe. Before starting this review let's first cover the discrepancies in the products listing on the information page compared to what actually comes with this 12-piece set. First off, the information page list in the details that this is a 10-piece set. Don't worry, you do get 12 pieces and I'm happy with them even if they are off a bit. The information site reads: "10 PIECES: This 10-piece ceramic stoneware bakeware set includes 3 sizes dishes perfect for any casserole or serving need. Includes: (1) 2.5-qt Oval Baking Dish with Glass and Plastic Lids, (1) 1.5-qt Oval Baking Dish with Glass and Plastic Lids, (2) 15-oz Oval Baking Dishes, and (2) 4-oz Ramekins." I'm not penalizing my star rating for this discrepancy since what is actually delivered is better than what is listed. This would be my edit to show what you do get which is backed by the included photos: 12 PIECES: This 12-piece ceramic stoneware bakeware set includes 4 sizes dishes perfect for any casserole or serving need. Includes: (1) 2.5-qt Oval Baking Dish with Glass and Plastic Lids, (1) 1.5-qt Round Baking Dish with Glass and Plastic Lids, (1) 24-oz Round Baking Dish with plastic lid, (1) 16-ounce Round Baking Dish with plastic lid, and (2) 4-oz Ramekins. We have used Corningware for years. We just love it, but the designs were such that I wouldn't want to use them on the table to serve the food in. That is until now. The French Colony bakeware looks as fabulous as is its performance. I have no hesitation of using these to bake and then serve with. The French blue bakeware goes well with our blue and dark dinnerware. When the meal is over, cleanup is a breeze. The three largest elements in the bake set come with plastic snap on covers. So, it is easy to take leftovers that have cooled down from the table, cap it, and move it to the refrigerator or freezer. Incidentally, there are warnings in the manual about taking a dish out of the freezer and putting it into the oven. Also, the oven needs to be preheated before putting the bakeware into it. If you don't have leftovers, cleanup is usually a breeze. Hand washing or the dishwasher will usually work unless you have a heavily crusted piece of bakeware which you then would let it soak in soap and water and use a nylon brush or pad (nothing abrasive) to finish cleaning. I included a photo to look at which has the certifications for the microwave and oven, and warning against using the stovetop and broiler. ... show more

Ordered a set of Corningware bakeware and the 16 oz bowl is shattered in a dozen pieces. I got no resolution from a broken Bico pasta dish so don’t have high hopes for this replacement.

One of the first things I noticed was how light these are.. I have used corningware for years, and to be honest, IMO, the stuff that they make these days is no where as good as it was when I was growing up.. We had a set of plates with a gold design on the edge, and decided to get new ones that looked nicer.. Our old ones were 30+ years old.. Those, you could drop, and unless it hit just right, they would not break.. The new ones were much lighter, and there were times that they broke just sliding into the sink from the side.. These seem to be of the same quality as their newer plates.. They are about half as heavy, just do not seem to be as durable (I am not dropping them on the floor just to find out).. Even the plastic lids feel much cheaper than the old stuff, and to be honest, I do not expect them to last for years without breaking or something happening that makes them not usable.. So if I was going to compare these to the old school stuff, I would probably give these a 2 or 3.. But considering everything these days is made cheaper, that is why I gave it a 4, because I am comparing it to today's standard of quality, not from when I was growing up.. Yes, they do work.. I like that at least the plastic lids are made in the USA.. Not sure about the bottoms, but they used to be, so I will guess that they still are since the lids are.. But just very disappointing if you used their old stuff. ... show more

We ordered the 12 piece set in French Navy. The color is and finish is very nice. It is a very deep blue with an almost matte finish. It looks very nice on the table. I like that the 24oz has both a glass lid for cooking and a plastic lid for storage. It is Corningware, so there is no doubt about the quality of the product. Unfortunately, the 16oz arrived broken. This set has the type of packaging you would see if you purchased it at a brick and mortar store. It really didn't have the packing material to stand up to shipping, I'm afraid. The Corningware box was shipped inside of a larger box, but there were no packing materials in the larger box. But that is a shipping issue, not a product issue. It is a very nice set. ... show more
