I've heard of these 'cooling blankets' before, and was excited by the chance to try one designed to be a comforter. The fabric used is a slick blue 'qmax' fabric, and feels very different from cotton textured fabrics. To the touch, there is a noticeable difference between the fabric and the ambient temperature. The way to get the most out of any blanket with this kind of fabric is to make sure you are in direct contact with it, but I'm not really a fan of the slick texture. For really hot sleepers, using this by itself without a top sheet (European style) works the best. I stuffed it in my full-sized duvet cover (it is light enough it fits fine with minimal lumping at the end), mindful this might negate the 'cooling' nature, but was pleasantly surprised there was still a difference for me (although it was less). I sleep with a weighted blanket, and finding a comforter that doesn't overheat me has been difficult and while the $80usd price tag as of this review still feels expensive, it's a good option for hot sleepers. I also really liked how 'fluffy' it feels. The batting inside has a soft loft to it that is very pleasant.

This is a phenomenal comforter for anyone who sleeps hot. As soon as you take it out of the packaging you can feel the silky smooth colling texture and then notice the weight of this. It is not a light cover that you don't know if it is still on, but one of good quality comforter that has some heft to it and covers you with a cooling soft cover. The color is nice, but the feel and enhanced sleep from this makes it a must have.

I tend to get overheated throughout the day and night...no, not hot flashes, luckily...yet! So, about a year ago I started researching cooling bedding and I've tried over 50 brands and types of cooling comforters, mattress pads and sheet sets and I only found one, which is extremely expensive, that was really cooling, until now. This comforter is a lot less expensive and just as cooling, silky and comfortable as the expensive brand I bought last year. I'm really amazed and very impressed with how cool this comforter gets. It feels cooler than the temperature in my bedroom, which is rare, because a comforter that doesn't use some form of energy shouldn't be able to cool below the temperature of the environment it's in. Due to it's silky outer fabric, it tends to slip to one side of the bed but this may be due to the fact that i"ve only used it on a set of satin sheets which are very slippery. I imagine that will change when I change my sheets. I say this with no bias, but just from experience and research: If you want a comforter that will cool you down without having to sleep naked, skip the others and just try this one. This is as good as you will get especially for the price, without having to buy one of those AC mattress pads that take a lot of effort and electricity to use.

A lightweight duvet insert that holds in the warmth but not the heat. A very comfortable comforter that keeps me cozy enough. I run hot and this comforter has been great at not holding so much heat that it makes me wake up burning hot. It provides the right amount of warmth.

This blanket is super soft and cool to the touch! It has been a game changer for warm nights. My husband is a warm sleeper and I sometimes get hot at night and it feels incredible! It doesn't have any heaviness to it and makes for a great nights sleep. Highly recommend.

At first, I thought this comforter might not be all it was described to be, but once I pulled it out I was pleasantly surprised by its soft fabric and quality stitching. First off, this is a weird hybrid of a blanket and a comforter -- while it is multi-layered like a comforter, it is constructed like a thin blanket. While you can use this by itself, it is also versatile enough to use as a secondary layer under a regular comforter for added warmth and insulation. I mainly use this in our guest bedroom since it matches our decor and found it to be fairly heavy, yet comfortable. The nylon fabric is extremely soft making the blanket very pliable. Unlike a traditional comforter which is thick, fluffy, and hard to fold, this one is thinner and easy to lay flat and fold when need be. As for the cooling effect, that is subjective. When I used it, I don't know if it made me cooler, but I didn't sweat as much as I normally would during the night. Unfortunately, a blanket is just one of many factors that contribute to "hot" sleepers -- the type of mattress, pillows, and general climate of the house all play a role. So while I was more comfortable, I can't say this blanket made a significant difference. Nonetheless, the quality construction and beautiful color makes this worth the purchase.
