We absolutely love these benches. They were easy to put together and keeping them clean is really just as simple as wiping them down. We had been looking for something for our back porch where we wanted a dining table option as well as more casual seating. Ordering 2 of these seemed to be a logical solution. When we're not eating out there, we have them in the bench position in an L shape on the porch. When we want to eat, we just swing 1 around to meet the other and make a table out of it. I was skeptical at first that the table surface would be able to handle the weight, but we've had no problems sitting 6 with food at the table (2 adults on each bench and a chair at each end). The half-table setup was great for a kids party so we could have 2 tables set up without losing as much of the floor space. I only have 2 complaints, but I don't think they warrant dropping a star. We find ourselves kicking the A frame as we walk past quite frequently when it's set up in the table mode. I think that very bottom part sticks out a bit further past the back of the bench than it needs to. I'd say it's just me being a klutz, but it has happened to several other people as well. The other thing I'd change is the internal parts of the A frame and the support triangles are carved out (hollow with support slats). These little nooks get filthy and are a bit harder to clean than if there were just flat surfaces. We really do love these benches, and will likely be getting 2 more so we have even more seating.

This bench is exactly what I was hoping it would be. It's very sturdy. It is super easy to convert to table. It's attractive and I can easily move it from outside to inside if needed. I needed more room when my kids and grandkids were over for family meals. We had to eat in shifts which I felt defeated the purpose. This bench is perfect. I can move it inside and it easily seats 4 kids -sometimes we even have 5 on it. We can all eat together. Also, my grands love to do crafts. Again, this works perfectly for them to draw, glue, cut out, etc. either in the play area or outside patio. Outside the adults enjoy the bench while watching kiddos- easily moving bench into sun or in shade or patio depending on weather. I am considering purchasing another bench before spring. We eat outside a lot and 2 makes a picnic table.

I ordered two of these for my new house with the recently finished back yard. The yard isn't big so these will do double duty for seating around the fire pit or put together as a table in the covered patio. The paved area here is 11x11 ft. I wouldn't want these much longer or someone on the end would be further from the pit. The backs have just the right slant and they seem strong and supportive without being unforgiving to the bottom. These assembled in 15-20 minues each. There are only 4 bolts and the rest is just sliding planks into fittings and pushing them down. I found a rubber mallot handy for that part. One set of predrilled holes didn't align exactly right so I twisted the end of utility scissors in that hole just enough to get the bolt through. That was no big deal either. Not enough to have a fit and return the bench. 🤣 Glad I picked these!

Update: Got my replacement bench, and so far love it. Was easy to put together and it look/feels pretty good so far. It is brand new so can't tell the durability yet but it is hard plastic so I imagine it should be pretty good outside. My original package had some broken parts, and It was a little bit of a hassle doing the return since the package is big and UPS busy in December, but now that I got my new package I am happy. I am thinking of buying another one later. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Was excited to put together my bench, but found the hinge broken when I opened it (see pictures). Not sure if it was broken during shipping or a defective product was just shipped that did not pass the quality check. Regardless, I am processing a replacement through Amazon. *Will write an update after getting a new bench, but now I have to go through the hassle of going to UPS and returning this large box (have to use my wife's SUV since it won't even fit in my sedan.

We absolutely love everything about this convertible bench. It’s easy to clean, very sturdy, switches between bench & tabletop w/bench using one hand. Furthermore, it is so easy & quick to put together, I did it myself in 15 minutes with the straightforward instructions & parts clearly labeled. It was well packed, the price was great & made in the USA. Really wanted one that was not white, & fit on our deck in the specific spot we needed tabletop seating. My kiddo uses it for crafting, virtual school, & hanging out with friends. We use it as more seating when other adults visit. I plan on using it inside over winter even though I’m pretty sure I could leave it outside without much impact. Absolutely cannot say enough good things about it.

Just to explain the Headline. The only piece of paper in the box is a full-color advertisement for Customized Cushions and Pillows for the bench. It is folded up with the ad facing out. The opposite side is the Assembly guide in English and Spanish. The unit Assembly is easy enough to figure out from the Amazon photo online. But why not make the written directions more obvious? That being said, I bought 2 tan color units. Both came undamaged with the 4 screws, 4 nuts and 2 hingeposts needed. You do need a Phillips screwdriver and flat-nosed pliers. A rubber mallet is ideal to knock the slats into the ends, and the posts into the hinges. You can cushion a regular hammer if you don’t have one. Others have said they used their own washers, but the nuts are self-sealing. So I didn’t find washers necessary. After putting together the first one in 30 minutes—Without directions, mind you—I assembled the second one in less than 20 minutes. Foolproof really, since I felt like a fool when I looked at the cushion ad after I was done, and found the directions. Duh. The 2 units align well to make one table. You will find out if you have the slats fully inserted when you do that. Just knock them in fully until both units match. One regular sized person can easily move them. In table mode don’t lean on the table too much or put a heavy load on it without there being sufficient weight on the seat. It will tip. When the tables are together, it’s steadier. But I still wouldn’t trust it with a heavy load of food and dishes.

I’m very pleased with the Convert-a-Bench…I now have 3 and will probably order a couple more before the summer season is over. I live in a very wind prone area and was concerned they may blow over….however, the construction of the legs enable the use of a heavy object such as a brick to act as an anchor. No worries about them blowing over and removing the bricks make them easy to relocate.

I'm 5'4" and not in great shape and I put this bench together and picked up up and flipped it on it's side and moved it all by myself and about 15 mins. I also do not consider myself very savvy at building things and I only had to refer to the directions once (I don't know why you can't really see it in the pictures but there are 2 braces under the seat). Everything fits together and it just makes it super easy. The only tools needed are a screwdriver and a little wrench to hold the nut in place while you screwed in 4 screws. I also just used the back of the screwdriver to tap in the pegs for the arms. We were looking for a little bench for our rather small front porch and at just about 5 feet this fit the bill perfectly. The bench is bright white plastic and for some reason comes practically swimming in plastic shavings/dust but it is very easy to wipe off and vacuum up. While the seat area is not very deep it is still sturdy (easily held 2 seated adult weight without creaking or moving) and more or less comfortable for a hard bench. From a distance it does look like wood but when you get up to it it's clearly plastic which is fine for me but I know some don't like that.
