Second time buying these all-black Converse All-Star mid-tops. I was able to get my first pair to last almost a year, with nearly everyday wear-and-tear from walking and skateboarding. My first pair are still wearable, but they've turned a little brown from where the black dye has faded away. These shoes are a great basic item to add to your closet. Looks great with black skinny jeans, grey harem/tapered leg sweatpants, and dark grey slacks. I'll probably be back next year to buy another pair once I wear out this new pair :) ... show more

I bought these for prom and they completed my tux like a boss. Aside from being stylish as all hell, they are extremely comfortable to swag around town with all day every day. Dead lifts too! Surprisingly true, these make a solid platform for workouts in the gym. I cannot wait to get a few more pairs. Warning: Buy one size smaller than you'd think, I normally am an 11, but I had to get these bad boys in a 10 Update: 8 months later and these shoes still go hard in the paint, no sole tearing or side ripping with these now imported Chinese reproductions of classic American style. Sure they're faded a bit, but so what? They look cooler than before. Bottom line, I wear these shoes everywhere, fancy events be darned, my cool Converse outclass everyone else's footwear any day of the week. 2 YEARS LATER: These shoes are amazing, they have been to other countries with me - even though I may have experienced jet lag the style provided by these foot worn masterpieces sure as heck did not. THESE ARE DEFINITELY NOT THE SHOES YOU WANT TO WEAR ALL DAY. I LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY AFTER WEARING THEM TO WORK. AT THE END OF 8 HOURS MY DOGS WERE YELPING IN AGONY ( WITH GEL INSERTS MIND YOU). THESE ARE REALLY FOR 20 SOMETHINGS AND NOT MIDDLE AGED MEN LIKE ME WHO WORE THESE AS A TEENAGER IN THE MID 70S. I never cared much for Converse or these Chuck Taylor's ever. The only reason why I bought them was because I was going to a Converse party and I wanted to make sure I had no issues getting in. After buying them and finally trying them on when they came in, I immediately fell in love. The fit was just so comfortable. I also noticed how many clothes & outfits I could match with them in my closet. Once at the event, I got a taste of how others wear them and how cool they look with shorts. I ended up getting the white pair which should reach me tomorrow and I'm looking forward to collecting more. ... show more
