I've taken to grading furniture I purchase online on a curve (remember those days??!! Yikes!!). The finish on the table was conspicuously scuffed up at the factory. And I'm not talking about one part, I'm talking about most of the pieces. It's black, anyway, and it will get some wear-and-tear, so I decided to put it together given that it's the last bit of furniture I'm likely to buy anytime soon. What really gets me is the pine-infused formaldehyde smell that's coming off of it -- it's like someone went through a World War I trench with a can of Lemon Pledge and or something. Borderline nauseating. I noticed this when I moved it from my "well ventilated DIY space" to the hall where I hope to put it. Anyway, it's standing next to the window now, fan humming away. Some things I guess I"ll never understand. On the plus side, it looks pretty nice for what it is. Also, I do have to give the people credit for the "color by numbers" approach to directions. That's huge (particularly if you've got a serious formaldehyde buzz going on lol). What you need to know: * This is on par with something you'd pick up at Walmart :( (Target, maybe, by a stretch). Definitely, you could find something better at Ikea. * It's a simple piece (unlike a desk or dresser) and I figure it will survive a move without any issues * I do like the contemporary look overall * If you can't afford a 40 oz, you can sniff the particle board and feel your troubles melt away lol ***Final note -- You'll want to have a flashlight on hand since some of the holes into which the screw fasteners are embedded may need to be tweaked. If you've a small LED flashlight, you'll be fine.***

So I wrote about the odor, but now I am writing that I believe we found a solution. While I thought it might glue in the composition board, he thought it was the white paint. So I took a lysol bathroom cleaner wipe, with a scrubby side, and wipe ALL the white paint down with vigor. That seemed to work best. Smell, so far is pretty much gone. (Nose to the board and you might catch a trace.) The product looks just like the phot, no assembly problems. I did not have any scuffs or discoloration as others have mentioned, and since we bought it for a teens room for a TV table, I thought it looked great. BUT the smell!!! It filled our apartment. Smelled it in our bedroom while sleeping tho it was 2 rooms away. Someone mentioned formaldehyde. I knew it was chemical, but didn't know what. I thought it must be the glue for the particle board. Left it outside for a week. It has lessened, but still smells. Great price for this little piece and it looks good, but the odor is a big deal.

The color is perfect. We ordered the espresso color. There is no variance between the top or bottom, other than the top has a higher sheen to it. The table is very sturdy and fits beautifully in the spot where we have it. I would buy this again if I needed to. We love it!

Firstly, this table was easy to assemble but kind of tedious. The finish is nice. Would've given it 5 stars except for a couple of minor things that I think could've been done better. Both minor issues have to do with stickers. Each piece is labeled with a round white sticker that has a black number printed on it. Needless to say, you'll want to remove these stickers after assembly. This is where my first problem is. These stickers are way too sticky and leave behind residue that is difficult to get off. With a little Goo Gone and some elbow grease, this can be done. Just kind of a pain. The second sticker issue has to do with these white round stickers that are designed to cover hardware on finished edges. They're the same color as the finish but kind of transparent. They definitely draw the eye and look kind of cheap. The best solution for this is to use some spackle or putty to fill the hole, sand it, and then match the paint. Doing this helps hide these holes. This is a sturdy table that works well in a hallway or entry. It has a nice design and is a good value for the price. If you're willing to overlook a couple of sticker problems, it's definitely worth purchasing.

This product itself is very aesthetically pleasing. It was super easy to put together, I'm not sure why people are saying this is so difficult. If you've ever picked up a screwdriver in your life, this is the easiest thing ever. The price went down on this product so I went ahead and made the purchase. It's great for the money and super light weight. You can re-arrange your house with this no problem. I will say that I marked this price down for sturdiness because it's not solid wood; therefore, it will likely require some TLC during any big home moves. Otherwise, I am incredibly pleased with this product. Photo attached!
