    • Fine tread
I put these on 23 rims on a Cannondale R800. These are 28's. Will try 30's next time. I know 34 gravel tires bind, these have lots of clearance. Softer ride for my 65 year old butt. I am running about 80 psi and they roll well.

    • Great cheap racing tires.
These tires have 14 watt rolling resistance. Continental GP5000 have 10 watt. If your racing and can afford it get the GP5000. If you want a longer lasting more resistant to puncture tire that is cheaper and don’t mind the higher rolling resistance, then get these.

I usually purchase GP5000s, but I couldn’t pass up this deal. Solid tire, a little heavier than the GP5000 - but more peace of mind on. It having to change a flat on the road. Easier to put on than other brands or models. As for rolling resistance, unless you are an elite cyclist (which I’m not), you won’t be able to tell the differences in rolling resistance ... show more

    • COULD THEY REALLY BE THIS BAD? YES.
The only thing I can review about this product is the quality which is actually a zero since I only purchased these tires less than a month ago on June 8th. and already the sidewall has failed. I suspect it was failing at least a week before I noticed it because I had several flats which I was attributing to my rim tape being somehow misaligned, or too thick when I purchased a new roll of velox. Finally I gave up on the rim altogether and purchased a new set of wheels. Fortunately, right before I set out on my first ride on the new wheels, I saw the inner tube peeking through the sidewall of the tire. No way the sidewall should be damaged this quickly. I only rode them once when I first got the tires for about 5 miles to test them out. That went well. My next ride was a 4 mile ride to work. When I left work that day, I was flat in less than a block. No problem, I changed the flat with a spare tube and the new tube was flat in less than a mile. I couldn't figure it out. The tires were not even in consideration, they were brand new! Took me a few more rides AND FLATS before I noticed the sidewall had the smallest tear which apparently just got worse with every ride. I've used these tires (700x27) for non-competitive ultra-distance riding (i.e. 100 - 250 miles per day) for more than a decade. Very long lasting. While not advising you to, you can ride them down to seeing threads with minimal punctures. Always easy to mount and dismount. These tires are a classic.
