  • It rolls..... Well!
Color: Black Size: 700 x 28-Inch Pattern Name: Single
I've been running these tires for yeas and love them. The tires start to get a little cut up from debris on my commute but I have yet to puncture one of these. I hit a piece of angle iron one time and it pinched my tube and cut into my rim but the tire was still intact! The secret to excellence is often to do simple well, and that's what these do. Pros: Excellent Puncture resistance Good tread life around 1500 miles Low rolling friction (there are lower) Foldable Good traction in wet conditions Low weight Cons: Price around 45$ per tire ... show more

  • These tires are great for all conditions for a serious recreational cyclist
Color: Black Size: 700x25 Pattern Name: Grand Prix 4-Season
Least compromised all-around road bike tire. These tires a great for all conditions for a serious recreational cyclist. I ride about 3,000 miles per year on my road bike and the GP 4-Season tire is the best compromise for me of durability, speed, traction, flat-resistence and cost. I used to ride Gatorskins for most rides and then switch to Micheline Pro4 or Vittoria CX-III for duathlons or fast centuries. While these are slower than a pure race tire, it is really hard to tell the difference and they ride and corner much better than other 'training' tires. Their traction in the rain and on broken pavement is surprisingly good. I also ride these on gravel paths and am impressed with how few cuts I find in the tread. Great tires. ... show more

  • but FWIW these tires are great. I am a bit of a Continental snob ...
Color: Black Size: 700x25 Pattern Name: Grand Prix 4-Season
If you're researching bike tires, you should probably go read some real reviews on bike-centric forums or websites rather than just Amazon reviews, but FWIW these tires are great. I am a bit of a Continental snob and therefore don't ride anything else. These tires are handmade in Germany, as are all of Continental's premium tires (they do have "budget" made-in-china tires) and I am more than happy to pay the extra money that they command. These tires have never made me feel like there was a lack of grip, I get VERY few flats, and they're good for a couple thousand miles (depending on rider weight). I ride my bike mostly out in the country where there is a lot of detritus in the bike lane or on the shoulder, and I will say that this can carve little chunks out of the tire, but that's the price you pay. You can ride Gatorskins and not have that problem as much, but you will have a much rougher ride because those tires are harder. In my opinion, these are ideal all-weather, all-purpose road bike tires for the casual to serious enthusiast rider. For the same reasons, it is also an excellent choice for bike commuters. ... show more

  • Your Experience May Vary
Color: Black Size: 700x25 Pattern Name: Grand Prix 4-Season
I switched to the Grand Prix 4 Season from the 4000S, mostly because of sidewall failures. I immediately liked the 4 - Season. It felt durable and handled well. I had more confidence when the road was damp from fog, or encountering the sand in the tunnel at Camp Pendleton. I was very happy with the tires, and probably put 1,500 miles on my rear Kinlin wheel with no problems. But last month I changed to a set of FarSports carbon wheels. With less than 500 miles on the rear wheel I had a pinch flat at high speed, and had to replace the rear tire due to a thin 3/8" horizontal split in the thin part of the sidewall, just above the rim. I know that I hit a small chuck hole that day while looking in the mirror, but other than that I cannot think of a reason for the split. Is it the tire? Is it the rider? Is it the roads? Is it the fact I ride a recumbent racer and the handlebars interfere with my view of the road, making it more likely to hit the occasional chuck hole? As a well-known English songwriter wrote, "Don't ask me; I don't know." In sum, the Grand Prix 4-Season is a good daily driving tire. I replaced the one that failed with another, and bought a backup. But, I'm not thrilled with the number of Continental tires which have had a sidewall failure. ... show more

  • Long Lasting
Color: Black Size: 700x25 Pattern Name: Grand Prix 4-Season
I use these on my daily training bicycle. I ride normally on Florida roads which are known for being hard on any tire due to their rough surface. After 400+ miles, these are still holding up like new on some very rough roads. Next set will also be the Continental Gran Prix 4. You will not go wrong with these tires. Ald the white/yellow lettering on the side looks cool as well. ... show more

  • Excellent all-round tyre
Color: Black Size: 700x25 Pattern Name: Grand Prix 4-Season
A great long-lasting tyre that works well in all conditions. Have tried lots of other tyres and still come back to this tyre or the Gatorskin. They are rather pricey so look for sales.

  • Amazing upgrade. Highly recommend this tire.
Color: Black Size: 700x25 Pattern Name: Grand Prix 4-Season
I upgrade from my stock specialized borough armadillo elite tires to these in a 28 size. Let me tell you, the improved rolling resistance and handling made my bike feel like a brand new experience. I use strava, and even though I'm no KOM (king of the mountain) in any segment, I easily bested any personal records on all my segments after changing to these tires. I have about 450 miles on them now and they show absolutely no wear what so ever. They roll and roll and corner real nice also. I have to say I'm a true believer in Conti's at this point. I am thinking of trying a 25 size on the front, at this point to match my new rims. I just upgrade my wheels from stock OEM axis 1.0 wheels to hand made HED Belgium + rims on DT Swiss 240 hubs, and even though that was a nice upgrade, it was nothing of the wow revelation that my tire upgrade provided. Really, it was so amazing of a difference that I am telling all my cycling friends to pony up the dough and make the switch. In the end I guess it is all subjective, but... Coming from the armadillo tires to the Conti's, was truly amazing. Cheers to all my fellow bike riders! ... show more
